These two were arrested for sports betting and gambling. I thought these guys made enought money that bribes wouldn't be a problem? No clue what these guys made but there were 34 others arrested in conjunction with The Cosa Nostra family in the mob. This could be big news

I guess sports betting is not legal where they are?? I would think legalized sports betting screwed the mob just like way back when they made alcohol legal.

Today inspired the next Scorsese movie... whole situation is crazy. Scamming people in rigged poker games.

When you allow gambling to sponsor and even represent your sport, what do you expect?

I'm not excusing anyone for wrongdoing. Shouldn't the FBI have better things to do than have to babysit millionaires gambling on sports?

But that's not what happened with Billups. He was scamming people in poker games under the guise of playing poker with celebrities.

Hmmm, the report I heard, just a radio report, was all about sports gambling. Not saying anything is right or wrong here, just the way I heard the report.

Billups was arraigned, released, his passport taken, and his guns taken away. This was part of the report I heard.

Yes, the mob ran the poker sham. I do agree bout sports gambling being a problem, but that aspect of the mob story is unrelated to him.

Wow, I finally read about it. I could see how you could make a ton of money doing this crap.

The quick run down as I understand it:

    • In private poker games in LA at the Glass House, which is a well known residence in LA, players were cheated. It is also the Selfiepop house which is where a bunch of influencers stayed to do videos or something like that.
    • A guy lost 1.2 million in one of these games and claimed he was cheated.
    • He did not pay his debt and was getting threats against him, his property and family.
    • Got scared and went to LA police
    • Police investigate and the guy running the games says that he will give them bigger fish in exchange for something.
    • He rolls on Chauncy and others.
    • This has all of the stuff you would expect in a movie. Murder, Latino gangsters, Israeli mafia, drugs, guns, theft, illegal poker, celebrities and more.
Here is a 15 minute video that goes over it, focusing more on the poker aspect of it, but it does cover all of what is going on.

Here is a long video involving this. Skip to 1:06:00 in the video to get a kind of succinct rundown on it.
