We're in a state of taking one stop fwd, and two steps back. Mitch started off doing all the right things with getting players down in FL and preparing for the season with his new teammates. However, that brief acclimatization period could only take him as far as his talent. We know that he is here because of not being talented enough but still, he was trying. So, the team took a step forward by getting Mitch but now, playing real games, he is not enough. Next, Pickett. Two steps back, temporarily? He will take time to catch up to what Mitch had the opportunity to do in FL and in real games. So, throwing 3 picks (whether his fault or not) is indicative of his maturation as our starting QB. If he is really good this transition will be short lived, and we can start doing some good things toward mid-season where we won't have to take any more steps in the wrong direction. JMO>

The million dollar question for all professional evaluators all over the USA,
How does this player transition to the pros. Everyone of them wish they could ace this test.

He possibly isn't in top 100 receivers in the nfl. 32 teams x 5 receivers per team =160 total WR. Not too good of a percentage. Package him, bush, Mason.

I may be in the minority, but I am not ready to give up on the kid just yet. For me we are still dealing with a relatively small sample size of work. Last year was pretty much a throw away year, what with Ben unable or unwilling to throw the ball deep and our H.S. OC. Unfortunately, Canada is still here and Trubisky was pretty much the same as Ben. I'm hoping Pickett will light a fire under Claypool.

Well, early sample size had Pickens and Muth as his favorite targets, 4 each. Johnson had 2 and Claypool 1.

The homer in me would like to think Pickett will come in and light the world on fire tomorrow and put up a lot of points but realistically against this defense, especially very good against deep passes, they are all going to struggle.

Najee might have the best game, him and Muth. Could see them being safety valves for Pickett.

If you don’t keep score you don’t need mulligans

    I don’t know about Tomlin

I’m just talking about my golf game

I've wondered whether Claypool, with his large frame would be better suited as a tight end if he put on some weight and learned to block. And got open. And caught the ball. Eh, never mind.

I don't see how that could be true, he doesn't get much separation.

Can't play conservative though. Pickett need to let it rip. The guy playing QB on the other side will be. They do need to sure up the running lanes to get Najee better opportunity's I agree. I do feel that Muth and Pickens will have solid days unless they keep Muth in to help Moore. Pickens is going to be a beast.

Nice long sustained drives eating up clock keeping our defense fresh.
