    was
    not
    prepared
    to
    play

I understand that the players play and the coaches coach...but this is a m'effin' broken record!!!!!!! The entire team was outplayed by a group playing ON THE ROAD on a SHORT WEEK!!!!!!

They got outplayed and out-coached off a bye against a team that got smoked AT HOME against Baltimore and Cincy!!!!! STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THE BIGGEST JOKE HC IN THE NFL!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't see game, but someone said, Ben got hurt early and probably should have been pulled due to injury? Someone said he was off all game after he hurt his hand?

3 at the feet of the wonder boy Ike "Toast" Taylor. I'm not giving Ben a pass but one of those interceptions was a tipped ball.

And lets look at ALL the drops.

I'm not giving Ben a pass either - he needs to play better, but I don't get some people saying he lost the game when 2/3's of the team played bad.

That's how he greats every single player after every single game. Because beating and berating players is how you get them to function as a cohesive unit. Earn their respect and they do anything for you.

Ben hurt his hand in the 1st qtr and never recovered. Grad goes in at that point. We win
Same thing when Leftwich got hurt on the 1st play of the rats game a few years ago. EVERY SWINGING RICHARD IN THE WORLD knew he was hurt, he had to bend over to take a breath. Tomlin puts batch in at that point. We win that game. IT IS coaching. He didn't, we lost.

After five years of this you haven't had enough?

I can name at least a dozen HCs in the NFL who can win consistently with Roethlisberger at QB. Tomlin isn't one of them. This is what you get with a guy who can't push the buttons.

They only kept Brees in check for the first Qtr, he had his way with them after that, they can't stop guys like Brees and Brady, they destroy zone. I knew we'd lose today.

The only coach I see doing what you are talking about consistently is Bellichick, he's the exception, not the norm. It also has a lot to do with Brady. We'll see how they do when he retires. Although Jimmy G has a lot of potential so who knows, that train may just keep on rolling along.

Kevin Colbert is the one who must go. He has gave bad contracts to the wrong players ,kept to many players past their prime and has the worst secondary in the NFL without a doubt. I stated when Ike went down this Team needed to trade for a CB . Of course Colbert made no attempt and this was before we cut Blount who we now know was not wanted..

    Why not trade him ?

Not a single one of htose supposed 12 coaches is going to win consistently when Ben plays the way he did today. Was it you that made that stupid list earlier in the year pointing out games you think we should have won? It' was all nice and pretty until you look at the details and see that in 90% of those games Ben played like ass just as he did today. Y'all put ben up on some stupid pedestal and can't see the forest from trees.

One week ago, on the road against New Orleans, here are the key Ravens' numbers:

    Flacco: Passer rating: 120.7
    Forsett: 182 yards rushing

Two weeks ago, on the road against New Orleans, here are key Bengals numbers:

    Dalton: passer rating: 143.9
    Hill: 152 yards rushing

Today, with two weeks to prepare, at home against New Orleans, here are the key Steelers numbers:

    Roethlisberger: passer rating: 76.4
    Bell: 95 yards rushing

Is this a personnel issue? Is it? If you want to argue that, fine. But it seems to me that the writing is on the wall: that even with superior talent, even with two weeks to get ready, even against an opponent that just lost three in a row at home, even against an opponent playing on a short week, on the road...Tomlin's boys couldn't come close to matching the offensive output of their division rivals in a key game.

Make no mistake about it: it is coaching, it is lack of preparation, it lack of ideology and direction, it is lack of discipline and mindset. Apparently, the Steelers just go into each game thinking they can win on talent alone, because it works every now and then. They consistently look unprepared, undisciplined, lacking fire and focus. And all of that rests at the feet of Tomlin.

    The ENTIRE TEAM played crappy.

Roethlisberger has taken the Steelers to three SBs, but I am with you on his work ethic, which Sanders called out and was probably right.

So whose responsibility is it to kick Ben's rear and tell him to get his nose in the playbook? HIS WIFE'S?????

If it is ALL on the players, then why even hire a head coach???

Brice McCain getting hurt was a killer. That pretty much changed our whole scheme that was working. Which highlights another problem. Depth. We are close on offense. A linemen or two would be GREAT. On defense though... not so much. I mean even IF JJ and Shazier turn out to be good it is a lot to ask out of a couple of linebackers to make up for the lack of talent behind them ya know?

Here's the problem in a nutshell.WE DON"T HAVE SUPERIOR TALENT. This team is rebuilding. We simply aren't that good. Ben might be a better qb than dalton, but it's a team sport. TEAM.

You don't think Ben is better than Dalton and Flacco? You don't think LeVeon is better than Forsett and Hill? You don't think the Steelers' o-line is at least on par with Cincy's and Baltimore's, talent-wise? You wouldn't take the Steelers' set of receivers over those two teams?

On "paper" the Steelers are the best offense in their division. Paper is only good for wiping. I know. But it speaks volumes about how little the Steelers are getting from that side of the ball. And that may be on Haley...but we had the same issues with Arians.

The Tomlin apologists baffle me. Apparently the rationale is that "the Rooneys couldn't possibly do anything wrong." And admitting that Tomlin is a joke would be contradiction to this belief. Sorry folks, Tomlin is a joke - and the Rooneys made a huge mistake...a 7-year mistake...and counting.

Any other head coach could ACCIDENTALLY go 10-6 every year with Ben and this aging defense. Tomlin finds ways to go 8-8 with his stupidity and coaching acumen. He is a grown man cheerleader - nothing more.
