This will certainly cause our friend Santee to do cartwheels and celebrate vigorously. Projected Charger (2018-19?) revenues dropping from $400 mil to $150 mil. They also are having trouble selling seat licenses for the new LA stadium they will share with the Rams. Only thing keeping them afloat are all the "opponent" fans buying tickets and rooting for the visiting teams. This actually started many years ago in SD - remember Rivers trying to hush the (Steelers) crowd a few years ago? Could home games in London and Mexico City be the norm for this floating franchise in the future?

I never understood why they were in such a hurry to put two teams in LA before they weren't even sure they were ready to support one team.

Dean Spanos is getting what he deserves. They had a great fan base in SD, but the tax payers there refused to give in to his demands for a new stadium. I have read where SD fans would welcome back the Chargers with open arms if Spanos would sell the team.

Spanos it dead and the Chargers are locked into a 20 year lease at that stadium .

Things are going to get worse before they get better

Through the years, Spanos slowly killed what fan base there was. The taxpayers might have supported a stadium if it had been in the existing location but, Spanos wanted downtown or nothing. The streets can't handle the traffic that's there now! Meanwhile, the existing stadium and it's 160 acres is being used for college ball the occasional concert and swap meets!
