Chant at Hockey Game

I support the chant and here is why: It is a time and place for the fan base to be heard nationally. It was not meant to cause disrespect to the Penguins. Considering the situation with the offense, and most importantly, the magnitude of the longevity of the situation (almost 3 years now) supports the frustration and the chant from the fan base and city. The organization seems unwilling to make a competent decision and coaching change (s) (fact). I blame the owners .... you can't even place all the blame on Tomlin with this debacle (though... his time has come and gone too) because he take his directives from above.

 

What chant are we talking about?

 

They chanted Fire Canada during a Pens game.

My son pointed that out to me while we were watching the game on TV. While
it was semi comical I really don’t see it making any difference. Somebody could probably hire a drone show and our coaching staff would still remain as is. Steelers never make mid season drastic coaching changes.

 

That really caught my attention during the game. Canada had to find out about it. He has to know how hated he is. He may need to hire personal security. He has a tough road ahead for sure. Steelers on the West Coast and then home against a Jags team that will require more then 17 points to beat.

 

I’m starting to feel bad for Matt Canada

He’s not a good OC but he is flesh and blood it has to hurt

And how about his wife

Although he could step down and it would be over

And he’s getting paid very well

My son saw this on the news last night and told me about it.

I don't have an issue with it. Canada didn't do well when Ben was here, and he's having the same issues now that he had then. No sign of improving or learning/advancement in his playcalling. 3 years is way more of an experiment than necessary to see that his coaching isn't getting it done and isn't going to improve.

Everyone has a different take on his reaction (or lake therof) after Picken's touchdown, but I saw a guy who is no longer a Steeler fan. He has GOT to be bitter at all the chants. Who wouldn't be?

 

I don't mind booing him in these public settings but hopefully people leave him and his family alone outside of these settings.

 

There were a lot of Canadien hockey players in that game. I hope someone explained to them that the chant had nothing to do with their birth country.

 

Ahh, maybe a little trash on the front yard too.

 

She was seen in a Sydney Crosby jersey chanting with the rest of the crowd.

 

People used to get together, and chant to hang People, burn people, and other atrocious acts. It's human, and sad....You get a mob mentality together, and stupid stuff happens.
I want Canada gone, and I wish they never hired Him, but to do this to ANYONE is ridiculous.

The chant was stupid, just because Canada isn't a good OC it doesn't mean he deserves all that, he doesn't seem like bad guy and he has a family. I'm sure some of those Penguins fans are bad at their job too and wouldn't want people calling for them to be fired.

Agreed. I felt the same when they did it to Mason. Everyone knows I don't like Trubisky, but I wouldn't want people to do Him that way. It's uncalled for, and unnecessary. Boo by all means a play during the game, but this is ridiculous.

 

See even the Frankenstein Monster was hounded. LoL.

 

If you are going to be at that level you already have to have thick skin. It might bother his family but I doubt it really gets to him. He probably has explained to them it comes with the territory and by the money he makes they probably don’t really worry too much about it.

 

Booing is one thing....hell My own family has booed Me at games, but chanting...., and at multiple events is beyond ridiculous.
