CFB Notes '16

been pretty busy traveling these past couple weeks, but am now watching the Michigan - Iowa game from 11/12.

Michigan Senior LB Mike McCray. Active guy, but on the bigger side at 250 so you'll lose some quickness in pass defense. Good hustler though. A little inconsistent in fighting through the trash to get to the ball carrier.

Michigan co captain DE Chris Wormley was nothing special this game, but nothing overly bad either. Not much of a pass rushing threat this game, more braun than finesse at 6'6" and 302. Showed great awareness staying home and stringing out an end around, experienced guy with a lot of starts. Didn't see very forceful hands. Beat the TE for a nice QB pressure and grounding penalty.

Michigan Sr Safety Thomas was around the ball a lot, I look forward to seeing some of the all 22 cut ups this offseason.

Michigan Junior QB Wilton Speight will be interesting to watch next year for his senior year. 6'6". Coached by Harballs and like him or not, he can coach the QBs.

Some obvious players like Mich. Senior Jake Butt TE and Iowa SR CB King will be good pros. Peppers as well.

Iowa Senior DT Jaleel Johnson 6'4" 310 made some good plays, battled low blocks well. Has some quickness and average power. A little high coming off the ball at times, but read plays well. Could be a nice rotational guy..

Iowa Junior RB Akrum Wadley was impressive. Tough runner, who knows if he'll enter draft. The senior RB LeShun Daniels had some good runs as well. See him more as a depth guy though.

 

Wormley's game against Ohio State is truly the best of his 2016 campaign.


Definitely got the better of Pat Elflien at times.
