    not even sure it would have to be next year. As I said I would go with mason and lynch for next year. He may be one of those Charlie batch type guys down the line. Can win you some games as a backup with starting experience. Once Ben is gone be would make the backup job fairly stable for a team.:cool:

    I went back and looked at CB's record for the Steelers, 6-3 as a starter. Not bad at all for a B/U. I know both Cowher and Tomlin liked him as a game manager. Not sure really what more could have been accomplished this year with all the injuries, but wonder with a Vet like that if we would not have snuck a few of those close games in. Hard to tell, because there are times B/u's shine for a couple of weeks, then reality hits. That said, we saw what having inexperience leads to when depending on it for a full season.

    Don't forget we had two former starters as backups at the time. Leftwich played too. We had two pretty good ones at that point but a young Ben as well.:cool:

    They lost T.Y. Hilton late in the season.
