This is the kind of veteran QB the Steelers should go after, forget about Mariota and Winston. He's a veteran with playoff experience, and would push Rudolph if he wants to be #2. He's also a UFA.

Keenum is a very good veteran backup. What kind of salary would he want though? Steelers are really cap strapped so I think they will go with Mason as no.2 and hope he develops enough to be productive if called on.

Didn’t he sign a 36m contract with Denver the other year? I doubt as back ups come he’d be cheap.

This is a league wide problem though. There’s been so few quality QBs coming through the draft, the market value is far above the talent on show.

I have seen him a lot living in Virginia. He's decent, not great ...
but he is certainly better than what we have had.

They can sign landry jones before training camp if they have enough brains to get it done:

I was thinking Teddy Bridgewater or (don't shoot me) RGIII. For back ups of course.

Tom Brady might be available too. He's getting a little older, but he might be a good experienced backup for Ben.

We kind of need to see if we'll even have Ben back first.

Please stop mentioning Winston's name. Why would we want a turnover machine like that as a backup QB? People complain enough about Ben getting 10-15 INTs a season. Imagine the uproar when Winston comes in for 2-3 games and almost equals that amount.

I think both have come to the realization that need need the right type of team, offense and coaching in order to be successful. Neither would do well in Fichtner's offense. They'd stay in NO and Baltimore respectively.

Keenum would be a quality backup, I'd take him in a second.

I didn't know he had passed. I wonder if he had diabetes & didn't take care of it? His symptoms are complications of high blood sugar.

    I'm not sure.
I remember reading that his weight was over 500 pounds a couple years ago.

Are you being sarcastic? Teddy I believe is just coming off a 7 mill one year deal. After going 7-0 he will be looking for started money, RG3 will likely stay in Balt., he fits that O scheme perfectly.

Wondering if Ben is wearing the menu for Primanti brothers on his wrist during his recovery.

Now you do know that Paxton Lynch is signed for 2020 and has an under a mill cap hit. Fits in perfect with this cap situation.
