Answer. Other. The reason Pittsburgh believed it did not need a Quartebacks Coach was due to the fact that the team believed Ben could go a full 16 game slate again. Sadly, this did not happen as we all know. In regards to that, said problem does befall on both Tomlin and Colbert for not having a fail safe despite Big Ben's old age. It seems both men have learned the lesson though with a great pickup in Matt Canada, in my opinion.




Matt Canada was not fired from LSU because his plans were not working. He was fired because Ed Oregeon's pride and foolishness doomed LSU's 2018 Campaign. The initial plan was to air it out at Death Valley with creative concepts but Ed did not like how Canada wanted to approach the process despite his previous track record; something that makes zero sense on too many levels to count.




The fact that both Tomlin and Colbert both owned up to their mistake in by admitting it was a bad a idea to start is a good indication that this Coaching Staff is not ignoring their shortcomings; a requirement all good to even great coaching staffs must have. Even more so is the act to ensure this never happens again by hiring someone who not only has new Offensive Concepts but is also firm on the basics and fundamentals. Matt Canada has had a successful track record in the NCAA. Given how many College style implementations there are in the NFL, there is no reason to assume Matt Canada cannot get it done.

 

Yup. Makes no sense that Canada was sitting out there unemployed and we decided we didn’t need a dedicated QB coach, when we had one for all of Ben’s years. It’s not like they were unfamiliar with Canada, they were actually quite familiar because he coached at PItt. I do agree they more often seem reactive instead of proactive. It would of been nice to have Canada with a year under his belt already especially in light of the complications of getting guys acclimated due to Covid19. Oh well a day late and a dollar short.....let’s hope for the best.

 

Wentz is a one year wonder in my opinion
