These threads are supposed to go in the Bill Nunn draft section of the board, Strong doesn't have any mobility.

    Brady never had mobility either?

It was a great post though. Elite arm talent should be the first thing to look at in an elite QB. Mobility #17 but we hear it #1.

I have been watching tape on the Qbs coming out recently. I am not a fan of Strong. Above average accuracy, very average arm strength, very average mobility IMO. Didnt play elite competition at Nevada. This guy has future NFL backup written all over him. It's a pass for me.

You lost me at "average arm strength."

Pretty much all the QBs look like career backups.

Strong probably doesn’t fit the mold of what Tomlin wants but he’d be a good pick if they wanted another QB that is more like Ben than Lamar Jackson.

Strong is a good pocket passer with a very good arm that can make all the throws. He’s not going to run for a ton of yards but he can extend plays.

I wouldn’t have any problem with that pick.

Been reading good things about Strong. The medicals on his knee is whats keeping him down, or so I have read.

Should we be using an asset on a player because he’s not Mason Rudolph, or because he’s the right guy? Maybe Strong is the guy, but ‘anyone but Rudolph’ isn’t an argument. He’s just a stop gap, not the future.

We need one with brains. We need one that can throw. We need one that can make things happen with quick thinking. Some are good runners because they leave that as their only option because they haven't gone through the progression or pulled the trigger in a timely fashion. We have playmakers, that is who our qb should be getting the ball to and not become our leading rusher. Getting one that can pass first and run if and when he has to will keep him on the field longer.

I look for a QB who makes things look easy out there and Strong shows that. And it’s not chalked up to playing in the MWC. I’m talking about ease of running his offense and reading the play. Because he displays this, he has the most potential of any QB in this draft, IMO. It shows me he has a very high football IQ and that is something you can’t teach.

He’s getting a lot of buzz now and I expect that to continue if he has a good Senior Bowl. If his knee checks out, he’s a sure first rounder and could definitely be worth getting at 20th.

It would be amusing as hell if Colbert pulled the trigger on him as a big F U to Tomlin on his way out the door lol

trouble is the college game has gone to that type of QB, so finding a pro set type of QB is harder to do. dog killer, haskins, dobbs, i think are all MT lobbying. maybe it's a good thing colbert is sticking around through this.

Sorry. He is just "meh" to me.

Stats are out of this world, but that's because he played at Nevada.

OK, but Strong can throw it 60 yards on a rope. Can probably throw 80 yards. I think his arm strength is comparable to Mahomes and Allen.

I look at the motion of the arm on deep passes. Thats how I determine arm strength. Mahomes and Allen can throw 70 yards on a rope and the throwing motion doesn't change. Its almost effortless. I can't say the same for Strong, which is why I said his arm strength is average. Honestly I feel the same way about Howell, although I do like Howell better a player than I do Strong.

This is true. But none of these guys are the prospects Ben and Bradshaw were coming out of college.
