The flipside though, is Bell would be hammering as well. If Blount could get along with the idea of spelling Bell as well as softening the D, then man we could really take some air out of the ball IMO late in the game. IDK I think Blount would be a wiser move than MJD at this stage in the game, especially behind unproven line play... Need some gusto hauling the rock!

yeah we can take the air out of the ball late inthe game (as cowher used to do ) but .. taking the air out and running out the clock is ONLY a good plan IFFFFFF we have the lead..

We've dropped some leads the last couple of seasons by not being able to do so... Guess we'll see moving forward

He just had to want to play for the Rams and not for us. We could have done that I would think! I thought Carrington was one of those guys that had the potential to come in and become something pretty special. Would have been a good signing from a risk/reward perspective.

Being reported that the Raiders have the inside track on MJD. Deal could happen quickly.

I'm guessing we could have had him here for the same deal. In St. Louis he needs an injury in front of him to get any significant playing time. Here he would have had a legit chance to start, and could have played the 5 tech in base schemes and rotated in/out as an inside penetrator in sub packages. Oh well.

I heard they gave him an extensive physical, maybe they saw something they didn't like.

Maurice Jones-Drew has agreed to terms with the Raiders for a 3 year deal. He'll be the starter there.

As he should be. MJD still has some great years left in him. I always thought he would never accept a backup role at minimal value.

I will say though, the trend of RBs being devalued is alive and well. Anyone take a good look at the RB contracts so far aswell as the lack of interest. No one wants to pay top dollar for a RB anymore in this pass happy league.
