I hear you. It’s soooo pathetic for an NFL team to be capable of that level of utter-badness that it’s hard to believe it’s reality.

unfortunately, it happens to be our reality.

I thought so too, but watching the play in question there’s seems to me to an extra pass rusher missing in the picture.

I wonder if its been adjusted.

Mike Tomlin was asked specifically about how much control Pickett has at the line of scrimmage to audible, to change plays, or call protections earlier this year after the Ravens game when an audible won the game with the deep pass to Pickens. Tomlin said that Pickett shouldn't have to do that stuff when the coaches or the offensive line can do that.

Tomlin said quote "So it's not a player decision, it's a coaching decision."

We've talked about this before and I have posted this link before, yet people are still banging on Pickett for not doing things that the coaches insist on doing.....and they aren't working because there are breakdowns and mistakes in protections all the time.

He has called audibles, and line checks for awhile. I can show You at least a few every game for about the last 4 , or 5 games, and those are only the ones that are obvious.
You know this makes no sense right. So Your are telling me if the whole d lines up a certain way....he can change his protection??? When I've seen him pointing out ,and calling out protection.

Hey, at least 10 felt the unblocked rushers and threw to the location they came from.... This was a completed pass lol

Kenny takes a safety here. Every. Single. Time.

I know he has done some of that. My point is that the head coach has made it obvious that he limits what he can do, and when he can do it. That's all.

You can't say I'm not making sense. Did you read the article? That article are direct quotes from Tomlin in a press conference. It's the head coach of the football team that isn't making sense with what he said.

That's what's so troubling about it. It doesn't make any sense to put your quarterback in positions like that. That's my entire point.

That is from a game in October 8. They have given Him more, and more responsibilities. I hear what You are saying, but He didn't really start doing these things...that I really noticed until about 4, or five weeks ago. Of course they are slowly easing him into more, and how fast that goes....I would imagine is how fast He can handle it, but for the last 4, or 5 games He has been doing it quite often. Thats what I getting at. That rush from that picture is on Him. No way they say....hey if You see 3 guys rushing on one side, and none on the other....don't change protection, or go to a hot.

This is just you projecting something and taking a shot at Pickett with nothing to back that up.

Pickett's sack numbers are pretty good. He doesn't take a ton of sacks and he is good at avoiding them and throwing the ball away.

Exactly. That was the only point I was trying to make. He was playing with restrictions all last season and much of this season. They have slowly given him more responsibilities recently.

Its not the "sack numbers" I'm trying to point out, it was just pointing out that 10 saw the free rusher and made a quick decision to get the ball out to where the pressure came from. There was an earlier play in the game where they double blitzed that same hole and had free rushers. Kenny never even saw it. Immediately bailed (backwards like always) and took the sack. I'm not saying Kenny takes an excessive amounts of sacks, the point was that was the first time I've seen a Steelers QB all season process something that quick and do something positive with it as opposed to just throwing it at a receivers feet or taking a sack. It was actually a pretty nice play from Mitch all things considered.

They brought that same look multiple times and the Steelers couldn't figure out how to stop it.

The coaching in the burgh has become remedial for sometime and is getting worse.
