Not sure what you heard but according to OTC they only have 16.6 mil which puts them in the bottom 10. The freaking 49ers have almost 115 mil in space and the Clowns have 110.5 mil space

    this tells a lot.

don't expect alot of FA signings during this season. looks like we went all in last year and needed to win it money wise it seems. there should be many new young faces coming in via the draft and UDFA usage it looks like to me. the draft this year will be very important and those guys will see the field. it will be important to get bell signed to a contract which might help the bottom line for a couple of years.

it's saying we have 39 under contract and we are maxed out. we need some cuts and hope it's enough, but FA signings will be very very minimal.

The niners need that large cap, most of it will go to Garropolo in a new block buster deal this off season in the 145M range, the clowns cap space is meaningless, all the money in the NFL wont get them out of the pit of misery and vet players wont even consider going there anyway....

joe haden might be a guy we rework a contract with in my opinion. lowering his cap hit some with a couple of extra years may be a way to go.

Re: McDonald, I'm not sure how to read his contract details. It looks like we can cut him by March 31 with no negative cap consequences.

And unless you are assuming he will be injured too often, it would be stupid.

Are you saying we shouldn't cut Vance? Man I like him too but like I said before:

That is a lot of money for a team with cap problems........

No, i was addressing the suggestion to cut and then re-sign him. My understanding is that doing that (v. a restructuring) invokes the cap hit/dead money stuff. In his case, there appears to be none.

He had his best game ever here against the jags 10 receptions for 112 yards, lets see what he can do next year, as long as he can stay healthy, not sure we should be thinking about cutting him prematurely....
