People have been whining about the officials as long as I've been watching football, which goes back to the late '70s. This is nothing new.

I disagree, It wasn't Canada that missed three should have been easy throws.

Yep, thought Levis was going to toss a TD there. Nice pick!

5-3, hard to imagine but they are finding ways to win. Hopefully the offense can start clicking because the defense is suffering some bad losses. No Minkah and Holcomb is tough to overcome.

I almost never blame Pickett. You can go through my post history. I doubt I've made more than 2-3 negative posts about Kenny, and the ones I have, are about him missing throws or turning towards pressure. That's factual, he has missed too many throws. I have never said he isn't the QB of the future, although I did state I have my doubts at this point. I have repeatedly said the coaches are failing him and I want to see him get an opportunity next year without Canada. So once again, you're inventing things. I'm not a Pickett hater like some

Mistaken identity, I think. Probably talking about Strummer.

Refs have been pretty bad, though. Last game especially but no excuse for how the offense has been playing.

    Well

I can agree with at least this part

Some knucklehead was complaining that last nights game was boring

One of the best games I ever watched was around 1980 Steelers Oilers the final score was 6-3 and they spent the entire game slobber-knocking each other

You must have really hated watching football back in the 70’s.

There was a terrible non-call during the Titans last drive when their left tackle had a false start at least one full second before the ball was snapped. The crowd let out a roar and the announcers showed the replay. There is no way that the line judge could have missed that call unless he just didn't want to call it.

OK, well my bad. I must have stumbled upon another one of those 2-3 negative posts because my response was because of another quote of yours that I had read here.

I understand having frustration. I do. I look at the game last night and I see a quarterback that was playing with a rib injury just 4 days after the initial injury. He did miss throws that he should have completed. He was wild on a few throws that seemed routine. I saw him get his feet under him and continue to play better as the game went on. I know many blame him for missed throws, but I also know that he threw 3 passes that were perfect throws that hit his receivers in the hands for touchdowns....and they only caught 1 of those throws. I think there is always some blame to go around. He also came through with the game on the line again.

The skill of coming back from a deficit with a game-winning drive isn't as easy or as common as many think. Pickett having that ability is enough for me to give him plenty of time to try to work everything out in his game. His toughness was on display once again last night. So was his ability to win games.

I thought the league was putting more of a focus on that after years of letting tackles get away with that nonsense. That one was blatant. Luckily, the Steelers got the stop anyway.

Not at all. I wasn't alive in the 70's but I've seen enough highlights to love it. Also loved Hines Ward, Troy, James Harrison, etc. I love the rock em sock em days of hockey. I love hard, physical contact. But I know that is gone forever due to lawsuits. All contact sports have changed and not for the better, but they've changed.

I don't blame the refs. They're calling they've been told to call. I don't even blame the league. Their hands were forced by lawsuits. Money rules everything.

    Agreed.

There have been games across the league this year where calls have been bad and affected the outcome of the game. But last night they all seemed legit to me.

They missed a false start and several holding calls but that’s life….

I get protecting the QB and roughing the passer can be a very subjective call. Some other calls, however, are truly head scratching. The intentional grounding call against the Bills last night is one.

    Some people wear tinfoil hats

    Others of us understand facts

Statistically referees are accurate on 98.9% of calls

That was a terrible call. Allen through the ball 30 yards down the sideline and his receiver broke the route off after about 15 yards. This happens every single game and I have never saw a penalty called before.
