No but its the HEAD COACHES job to know when the player hasn't and to establish an environment of total accountability. I hate the guy, but Bill B benched a player for the Super Bowl because he broke the rules and likely that cost them that Super Bowl. Now that is extreme, but if you have an environment of total accountability and professionalism you know there is no wiggle room for the BS that brown pulled or Harrison pulled. It starts with the environment Mike Tomlin created. Hold players accountable!!!

 

wait, what? does this mean canada is fired and biden will be hired as our offensive coordinator on thursday? should have seen this coming.

 

Is Thursday the start of the mandatory 4 Days off for the Steelers? Are they taking off Thurs - Sunday?

The 4 Days off during the bye week have to include a Sat & Sun.

This is the same Guy that basically said last year,and during the off season that Ben was what was holding Canada's offense back.
Not You @gibson43 , but a lot of people give credit to ex players, but somehow forget how many times they are totally wrong about things....even after it's been proven they were wrong.
Also You are totally correct about the offense couldn't change much, but a lot of times it's not what is being called, but when, and building off of that.
So what I'm getting at is two different people could have the exact same play sheet, but call a completely different game.

 

I am not so sure ..We look so bad that Tomlin could very well fall out of favor if he doesn't have the locker room and the young QB singing his praises .. Is just taking the play calling away enough for Tomlin to protect himself ? Tomlin may have to fire 3 or 4 Coaches this season to help protect his job ..If he even wants it anymore ? A season like he is having could put him firmly in the I am done with this catagory at which point he wouldn't fire anyone IMO.. So we will see...

You could be 100% correct on this....I was just going by how most of the History of the Steelers handle things, but I probably wouldn't be surprised if it goes as You say.

Well He didn't exactly say Ben(that's why I said basically).....He basically said... a athletic/mobile Qb was needed, and a immobile Qb was holding this offense back.....So as I believe most would read out of that .....Ben was what was holding this offense back.

 

yeah…I wasn’t buying that Ben was the problem. I try to use my BS filter. His long ball lost accuracy but dude could still play if given the correct supporting cast.

But in this instance I see it. It’s really no different than building high functioning teams in any industry. We just happen to have a fair amount of new employees Learning on the job with everyone watching. And bad sequence of play calls consistently doesn’t help

I always considered them New Wave. Although New Wave , or Rock, and Roll ....I liked them .....Not only did We cover them in the day....I also still Have Their 1st two albums.
