    This is great news, IMO.

They are Butler-ing him. Remember when they had Butler take on his LB duties again, that was their way of demoting him. Save face by saying he is still involved with running the defense but what they really did at that time was begin to transition to Austin.

Question is, who is taking on more of the OC responsibilities? Sullivan? Thomas? Someone else?

I don’t care. As long as it leads to the end of the Canada experiment.

How high is that cow bell guy???? I think I'm embarrassed because that looks like the 70's and me playing air guitar with long hair.

If that is true its nuts to not make the change to interim with QB coach since the OC is a lame duck and players will begin to tune him out.

Should have fired him, without hesitation, after he almost destroyed the booth in celebration after he dialed up a lefthanded touchdown pass from Clayfool.

I heard Canada drew short straw to talk to Kenny about the glove situation

    This.

Again, Canada, should this ineptitude continue tonight, won't be fired. Should this continue, he will have his role greatly reduced. Glenn Thomas or Mike Sullivan; take your pick.

Khan isn't the one who will decide if Tomlin gets extended, that's up to Art ll.

Hate to speculate but the situational play calling seemed drastically different from mid 2Q on. I think Canada got removed from play calling and either Thomas or Sullivan called the game from that point on. I could be wrong but it was a good win and something to build upon.

Tonight we showed we are comfortable with it. Kenny made connections. And we went back to our old way of getting the run game going.

But at the end of the year if it continues like tonight, I think they'll tell Canada goodbye. Because Kenny showed he could hit a player in stride for 45 yards.

Tomlin was up for extension last off season and Khan did not pull the trigger

    You’re wrong.

The TV announcers said several times that they stopped zone blocking halfway through the second quarter, giving more running lanes, opening up the pass.

    Same plays, just executed.

They can’t really take play calling away from Canada without it being very apparent because he calls plays from the booth. They can change his schemes though and that in itself would be a big help. Like going away from zone blocking as they did yesterday.

Writing is on the wall that they will be changing things up as they move away from Canada.

I think there is a misconception about offensive scheme. It’s not 100% on the coordinator. The offensive coordinator meets with his position coaches and outlines the what he wants to do, the position coaches then help come up with the best way to do that. Zone blocking has been something the Steelers have done off and on for years. They were most successful with it under Munchak.

What more than likely happened is that Canada and Meyer collaborated and changed it up. There were still some zone blocking plays in the game, just less of them.

I think Canada is gone at season's end.
He's just not shown any sign of development and it can't always be 'the players.'
His plays seem to not fool anyone.

The friggin bunch formation is always a run and he never changes it up.

the steelers did that because joey porter was a terrible coach and they fired him. yes butler was transitioned out and needed to be but they needed the position stabilized. they ran DLB out of town for butler. big mistake they found out. austin has not really been that much of an improvement as far as the run stopping and passing game. they also ran another OC (bruce arians) out of town too if you remember, for him to only go on and do quite well.

with two other QB coaches here, actually 3 other qb coaches maybe like i said before there are too many coaches, coaching kenny and they want one guy that actually runs the offense to do it. that is too many inputs on kenny. sullivan, thomas and corley, all with input on the passing game. too many cooks spoil the stew.
