There's a punter on the team that's as built like Bettis!

How crazy is that?

Dude is more Bettis than any other RB in the league. Could you imagine Bettis lining up to punt?

Has anyone seen him run? Short yardage back?

 

Steelers may need him to play ILB if things go like they did last year.

 

All that matters is a fantastic right leg, he could look like an ogre for all I care as long as he kicks the **** out of that ball.

 

i actually think we are in pretty good shape at ilb if bush comes back healthy. killebrew could make a difference there as well. if UG3 can stay healthy and spillane keeps getting better. buddy johnson is no slouch either. time will tell at that position.

we took a beating last year at LB and it hurt the defense.

 

He needs to make the team first.

 

I'm thinking the only way he doesn't make the team is if they can't find a uni that fits him. Paging Casey Hampton.....

 

Has anyone else noticed that Harvin has a very strange punting motion? It's almost like a drop kick. I wonder if that might be a block hazard at the NFL level.

 

I can't wait to see him tackle some little punt returner who gets past coverage.

Your optimism is admirable, but Killebrew has been in the league 5 years - he's a special teamer. He's also listed as a SS at 222 lbs on nfl.com.

 

How good a punter can he be? He’s not even from Australia!!

 

Who does he have to beat out? Berry?

 

He can throw pretty good too, trick plays will be in play.

 

he's listed on the Steelers roster as a lb. He has also played both. He's a little more then just a STer. He could play that small lb role as have been trying to fill.

 

Berry's been beaten in camp before and yet he's still here.

What role? He's 12 lbs lighter than Bush.

He's a Jordan Dangerfield replacement if anything.

 

so what? he's 7 lbs. heavier then marcus allen. he's 8 lbs. lighter then gilbert. 7 lbs. lighter then spillane. 5lbs. lighter then scales. 3lbs. lighter then miller. 11 lbs. lighter then VW. pretty close to the weight shazier was.

 

He's taken 87 defensive snaps the past three seasons, 57 of which came in a play out the string week 17 game in 2019.

You may need to ratchet down your expectations a bit.

 

naw my expectations are fine. we don't have a ton of depth at the position so i expect he will play some snaps. he's shown he can play. nobody is making him the starter. he's better then vince in coverage.
