JJ he was a first round pick, and the OLBs are supposed to be the dominant player in the 3/4.

I'd say more like "infamous" in my mind. This anal retentive stuff better have ended with Dick being gone. It damn well better.

I think it is VERY possible that part of the reason that DL is gone is that he outright refused to go with the younger players. Jones looked very good the first 3 games. Then once he got hurt and we had Harrison, he had trouble getting on the field. Tuitt sits on the bench for weeks while we run Thomas out there every week, same for McCullers. He runs Troy out play after play and then when he gets hurt (granted Shamarko was hurt as well), he kept playing Allen even when Shamarko was healthy again.

I am so sick of the above, that the move to drop DL as DC has given me new hope; otherwise, I had little excitement over the upcoming season. Now, at least there is a chance the disdain for young players will be greatly reduced.

Jones had trouble getting back on the field because of his injury, Tuiit and McCullers saw a lot of playing time for rookies, so what if it wasn't from day 1, Dline is one of the hardest positions to learn. Its a myth about LeBeau refusing to play rookies. Everyone wants to cling to several years ago when all pros were in front of the rookies, of course they wouldnt see the field but in the last 2 years, rookies have been getting on the field much quicker. Why? No more all pros in the way.

Bryant didn't see the field until 6 weeks into the season, was that LeBeaus fault too? They're rookies, big adjustment from college to pros.

We better hope so and this is thEE year for it. Can he stay on the field long enough to evaluate?

Don't want workout warriors, I want football players.

Amen brother, these cats better learn to play thru injury. Can't help the club if you can't get on the field. Just like at your own employment, say you got a guy that can work balls to the walls
but he fails to show up for work 2 out of the the 5. Or hurts himself and is off on S&A or WC this is not helping the cause is it?

"I think I'll go cut myself now." ;)[/QUOTE] Do you mean you're putting yourself on the waiver wire? or you are being released, or simply being let go. It is always confusing when someone is cut. At any rate, I suppose you're a FA now.:smiley1:

Shark is a favorite of many fans. [including me too] Everyone was wondering why he was not getting any playing time at all. I figured he was not 100%.

Then in a game maybe like 10 11 or 12 in the season I noticed he made a really great ST play. The crowd roared. He simply, like a real pro, got up and left the field. A few series later he made another key ST play. This one was even more spectacular. The crowd flipped but this time he did a celebration he jumped up a mile and sort of waved a terrible towel. So much for not being 100%.

Anyhow Golden has been given several opportunities. Shark zero.

I also noticed some major defensive coaching changes were made.

Considering that this was a team that if it thought it was going anywhere it was in their dreams, this situation was a bummer.

I think what bothers me the most now is when you look at these mock drafts come pick #22 a bunch of them will have the pick SS Landon Collins. Perfectly understandable. I even have to take him since all I do is take the highest ranked player available and he usually is it. And here the team is pretty much without any CB's, without any OLB's, can absolutely use one more great trench player on either side of the ball to set them up for years and I'm taking a SS when maybe I already got one.

Believe it or not, I do think all these situations will be taken care of somehow, but it is starting to look like foresight and vision are disappearing in the organization.

Honestly, I hope so, but I'm not optimistic long-term. For those that want to draw comparisons to Bob Sanders, Sanders had only two full seasons in the league: 2005 and '07, where he played in 29 games. For his seven-year career, he played in 50. He was great in those two years, but ultimately his body couldn't hold up. Hopefully Shamarko's can, but he's seen some early dings.
