And at what point is it ok to question the guy that hired the fall guy?

With Tomlin, our offense have for the most part always had slow starts and being too conservative when the Steelers have the lead, even in a one score game... These are reasons like that why our games are very often very close at the end and it was even a major problem in the killer B's era

With Cowher, when he had Ben, the steelers often had fast starts, like in 2005 when the steelers were the best offense in points scored in the first half and in the second half, it was the Cowherball to protect the lead and that always worked...Much more efficient!

He also had Jerome Bettis, and would take the air out of the ball in 2nd half, that was all she wrote. Ate clock and played defense. Just what Browns will do Thursday night

The powers that be within the organization must be content with him.

If Tomlin won 4 SBs in his first 10 seasons I wouldn't be complaining.
If Tomlin knew when to call a TO or when not to throw a challenge flag I wouldn't be complaining (2 examples of many). The losing doesn't bother me nearly as much as the overall ineptness when it comes to the basics of football. If he can't get the basics right then the rest doesn't matter anyway.

Is there proof somewhere that Noll was encouraged to retire by Dan Rooney?, I don't recall that.

    Just another Tomlin thread.
Do I think he should be bullet proof? No.
But as far as I see Art II is his biggest fan.
He has no leash. So put it to rest.
Lets just hope he has the balls to fire Canada and have Sullivan call the rest of the year.

It's not a comparison, not the way you mean. (I was not saying Tomlin is another Noll.)

The OP is the one who mentioned "fan since 1974" and "amazing drafts" by Tomlin.
I'm pointing out that even a great coach like Noll didn't find success even after 3 very good draft years (1969-1971). It took a 4th year to get a winning record, and the greatest draft class in history in the 6th year to get them to the SB.

If he had a team with like 10 hall of famers like Noll did, I'm sure he would have won 4 trophies in ten years .

This is actually a nice point:thumbs_up:....of course He would have to draft them, and not T. Edmunds, A. Burns, Bush, and J. Jones....., but still

I always figured it was yinzer lore, which I believe very little of (unless it involves Todd Haley and/or his wife).

No I didn't watch the game, I just took a wild guess that a pass would hit one of our players in the face.

Well what You said was wrong....so what was I supposed to think.....the pick was caused by it hitting a defenders hand.
By the way I wasn't the only one to tell You You were wrong.
Like I said before 10 people can watch something, and only maybe 3 of the 10 will understand what they are seeing. We did an experiment about this back in the day....based on profiling. So.....

Great post, and I've been asking a simple question for the past 5 years or so, but what is the Mission Statement of the Pittsburgh Steelers Organization? I'm serious, what is our damn Mission Statement, because I have no idea...Mike Dumblin has set our team back 50 years, so what the hell are we trying to do by keeping him employed?

Can we admit the answer to the thread title is “no, we can’t all do that otherwise this thread wouldn’t be so damn long and a tad repetitive”?
