Hello Steelers fans....My dad was the ultimate Steelers fan, still wears his jacket at 84 yrs old. Sadly, he has Alzheimer's and is no longer aware of much. I found this football in his basement, and I am wondering if anyone can identify the signature. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't recognize it. Take it to one of those memorabilia places, like Steiner Sports, I'm sure they could help.

    Good luck!

How about Joe Gilliam? Squinting I see a J, a double L , and an M. I have nothing to compare it to but the handwriting is a bit flowery.

Edit: Here is one of Joe's - so probably not...........[IMG]

Gerry Mullins? Nope - just checked. Not even close.

That's a tough one. Maybe Gary Ballman?

Really good guess, but I don't think so based on seeing his autographs online.

Yeah, that definitely looks quite different than the autograph in the OP. Good find (I tried to find a Ballman autograph earlier but I was not successful).

I got it - Millard Fillmore! Two sets of the indisputable double "L's. :hehehe:

For all you New York nativists:

    Millard Fillmore
(January 7, 1800 – March 8, 1874) was the 13th president of the United States (1850–1853), the last to be a member of the Whig Party while in the White House. A former U.S. representative from New York, Fillmore was elected the nation's 12th vice president in 1848, and succeeded to the presidency in July 1850 upon the death of President Zachary Taylor. He failed to win the Whig nomination for president in 1852; he gained the endorsement of the nativist Know Nothing Party four years later, and finished third in that election

Fillmore was born into poverty in the Finger Lakes area of New York state—his parents were tenant farmers during his formative years. Though he had little formal schooling, he rose from poverty through diligent study and became a successful attorney. He became prominent in the Buffalo area as an attorney and politician. Fillmore was active in many civic endeavors—he helped in founding the University of Buffalo and served as its first chancellor.
