It's still early, so who knows. Of course, you would think the veteran QB would be a little more solid than he has been, but we have a ways to go and you want to see when the pads go on and there is a much better feeling about what you are seeing and an easier evaluation in general. It's still not really football until guys are banging and truly competing.

Back to Rudolph, he will always have some value because he has 10 starts in the NFL. I think he will always have a chance to make a roster if he doesn't implode. I know he wants to start and actually play, but at this point I think everyone understands that he is a backup quarterback in the NFL. It's a great gig and he's making a lot of cash without getting pummeled weekly. He better show that he is still worth having around or his money is better spent elsewhere.

Rudolph will have to play poorly in pre-season games to get cut.

Its possible for sure no doubt.

But, he often seems to play well in pre-season games.

Mason doesn't want to be here but is happy to cash the easy check. That's a recipe that means we need to get him out of here.

I'm surprised they brought him back. But here we are. He has been a pick machine so far in camp. If it continues through the pre season he should be shown the door.

He is in a crap position. He knows no matter how he plays there is like a 1.5% chance he will get a start barring injury in the game. Even when Kenny was working back from a concussion last season MR was not considered an option by Tomlin. So while it would never be an attitude I'd display I can see where his attitude could be who cares at this point.

Which puts the argument in it's proper place. It looks like Creed will be a stud C for his entire career, as he continues to improve you can say the same for Muth. You were not going to get both, I think the lousy C play makes the argument for Creed justified, but we also have had some asshat play from the TE position since Heath retired, it's just opinion..I do not think we 'lost', just prioritized a different position.

I can see disappointment, and maybe he just sucks, period. But you are still looking at a million plus contract with the opportunity to put your best foot forward. Injuries happen, a lot of guys with not a lot of talent made a career out of being a back up, looking at the totals it adds up to a tidy sum. In the long run MT sucks as well, but seeing his options he chose to look reality in the face, took an extension and knows he is nothing more than a back up, not a bad gig for the money he is making.

It's also football in shorts. Come the games, Mason will have his shots, however, not with the starters like KP will.

I am not sure what YT camo vlog it was on, but the guy was stating how good Butler looked, but don't be surprised if Gunner is in the final mix. He noted his return ability (which seemed to be mediocre), but also mentioned his blocking..bringing out several plays last year where his blocks made a huge difference. Gunner a blocker??? Kind of surprised me, I honestly do not know, but things that matter we do not always see,,,the coach's do.

True, and some guys just show up different in game situations, even preseason games. Time will tell.

you have to wonder just how much of that was coaching last year vs coaching this year. Be safe, protect the ball, don't make mistakes vs go out and sling it
