I don't know how they are dropping all the blame on Sutton. Queen either misses a tackle or slide off and give up 3 more yards. Watt has been almost invisible. Beanie is small, doesn't hit and is always trailing.
Porter gets too many penalties, and never looks close to getting an interception.
The DC doesn't blitz enough, and his zone D is terrible. So there is alot of blame to go around.

It’s one guy not doing his job

 

Listening to different Steelers podcasts most of them are blaming Sutton, even hearing some say what is he doing on that play. I think Minkah and Queen also are to blame for some of the blown coverages.

 

Is it really that difficult for you? Doesn’t it get exhausting? Y’all have said the same crap 100’s if not 1,000’s of times. Dont you get tired? Everyone knows you hate tomlin and think all of the Steelers woes will be magically fixed if he was fired. Okay great! How about actually discussing football as opposed to turning every single thread into a bash the coach? Is that too much to ask? How long have you been on this board? Have you made it through a single day without the patented Tomlin comments? Hopefully y’all make use of the clipboard and use copy/paste instead of typing out the same thing every single day

 

Its getting yourself out of the league in a hurry. Wont comment about the Detroit issues, but given another opportunity and a chance to sign a decent (more than vet min.) contract, this is not the way to go about it.

 

Of course, I prefer the former. i am just pointing out the drawback of benching Sutton. The replacement isn't good, either. If only this team could have drafted a stud cornerback and moved Jackson to the slot. Oh, wait. They absolutely could have done exactly that.

This is what I was thinking after listening to the players. He is likely who they are referring too. Bishop should be out there. Cam is lost and not executing. I have heard a reference to " hero ball" In other words he is trying to do things he is not suppose to do nor schemed for. The other issue is playing Zone instead of man. Tomlin knows he cant play zone but is too stubborn to change.

 

Outside of Porter we don’t have the player to play man.

Ryan Clark blasted Elliot and to a lesser extent Cam for airing dirty laundry to the media. Said these are things you keep in house and deal with. What a mess

 

They cant play zone either. you play zone against a team like Chiefs and you get the result we all just witnessed.

Sutton really doesn't fit in with the team. Like he did in Detroit. He has potential but off the field worries could had clouded his decisions and playing time.

 

I never wanted him back. Good riddance after this season.

 

I hope Sutton gets benched for the Bengals game, play Beanie and bring up Rowe from the practice squad.
