Helps the team immensely. He probably competes with Jackson for to #2 CB role opposite Peezy Jr. and at the very least is the #1 slot option. Hopefully Cam can learn from his mistakes off the field and finish his career out without a problem.

    Good football move.

Off the field, sounds like it leaves a lot to be desired but I don’t really know any details about what happened in that incident. Everyone in the know says it was out of character for him, guess the Steelers felt that way as well.

He was also in man to man situation very often against the best WR from the other team and with little help from their safety

OK(Omar Khan), does it again. This is why I no longer stress the off season or worry about contracts and personnel. He will put us in the best position to win. Now, only if he could coach ... lol

    Love this!

Hopefully the league doesn’t hit him with too long of a suspension.

I would not say this is an all in move, signing someone to a min contract who very well could be facing a 4 game (plus or minus) suspension is not all in. It is a solid, second chance, make it or not move, but hardly a stunning signing.

I thought they would wait to see what the league was going to do first, but happy to have his talent back at a position of need.

Great move, we can't count on Trice to even make it through training camp.

Glad to see the Steelers pull the trigger and put Sutton on the roster so he can now be suspended or fined. I wonder if the Steelers had some info on what the league was going to do with Sutton before singing him?

I asked this question a while back about Sutton's mess; but I don't think the league can suspended or fine a player that is not currently a member of an NFL team.

My guess is that the Steelers quietly got some idea from the league what will happen with Sutton before they signed him.

That makes sense, though I think they could ban a player from signing, for instance a year up to lifetime, under circumstances. The reality that a certain penalty will take place if signed is pretty evident under the circumstances, how or if the league might inform an interested team I have no idea.

I do not think he has medical clearance to participate in any drills, it's really had to bank on a player who was only seen a couple of days in camp. With him I think its more wait and see, if he shows something and makes the team you used a low draft pick and its all good, if he does not make the cut, but is signed to the PS, still all good, if he signs to another teams PS, oh well, good for him and good luck. If it was a higher pick then there may be more motivation to make it work, but in reality we heard promising things about a guy who was never even in pads.

Not really, they met with him earlier this offseason. His charges were reduced to a misdemeanor, and he's cheap at a position of need.

They're probably being cautious with Trice he still has a brace on his knee, let him sit out until training camp.
