So coming within one series of winning isn't considered close as the score made it?

Jacksonville couldn't stop the Steelers offense when it was clicking anymore than the Steelers D couldn't stop Jacksonville's run game.

They really only allowed a few good drives the rest were short field garbage. Better play calling they win that game. Sheesh, not every team matches up well against other teams even if you would consider it a better team overall.

I remember Jacksonville's first run as a decent team and they had a good running game and kind of owned us back then too. I remember thinking this sucks watching a team play Steeler football then we did.

What was really painful to watch was the few times we held them to create a third down and 5, our corners lined up 10 or 12 yards off the ball making Bortles look like a HOF'er.

Why they didn't play more press coverage and force Bortles to make a second or third read still baffles me.

I hope that injury he suffered early in the season was the reason for his bad play, after the Steelers gave him that big contract they need more production.

I respect the guy for playing injured (if he truly was) but if you're on the field you need to produce.

Wow. I guess I am not in the minority. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how well Alualu played last year. Now that Dunbar is in charge, I wonder how playing time along the line will be distributed. Personally I would love to see an old school position battle at camp this year between Alualu and Truitt. The competition would make both players better no matter who starts. You rarely see position battles here any more. It's like starters are just locked in.

I guess he's filling Mitchell's shoes. Dude was non existent in the biggest game of the year. He honestly looked drunk or like somebody that did 0 conditioning for 2 weeks because of the bye. He was stumbling over himself and others all game. One day if I get bored enough I will clip it for everybody to see.

you have to "will" it in those situations. Rushing the passer won't be easy and going through the motions is what we saw lol

I don't know if I've seen anything official that actually said he played injured last season. He probably was, but I still believe if you're going to be on the field you've got to produce and if you don't step up and take the criticism.

Yeah he cleared the injury report every week maybe that 60M contract made him a bit content to just go through the motions, he gets no pass from me if he starts then play like a starter or tap out........

I thought Haden was only one on defense who played good in the playoff game. You didnt see him doing anything because he locked his side down.

Yea and Mike Tomlin lied to him at beginning of season said he would get reps, never did attitude went bad. Kept Mcullers in lieu

of Harrison. Yea great job Mike for messing up a relation with one of your better defensive players for the past 15 years. it's time for a change.

I guess I understand why people get bent out of shape since we played so bad but what do you want the guy to say? I mean would you all want Cam to come out and say....well we didn't make any moves to fix the dline next season is a loss. Or maybe something like.....well I hope the offense can score more than 45 points cause this defense can't stop anyone? OMG SMFH some of you people kill me, we are Steeler fans root for the team not sit on a message board and ***** about every little thing a player says or tweets. I know for one I am glad Heyward said it, he is sending a message to the rest of the team saying let's do this. He is proving he is a leader and trying to pick the guys up around him. These are the kind of players I want, I would rather a player be confident then not say anything as the ship is going down. EFFIN RANT OVER :facepalm::facepalm:

If Dhb would've made a statement like this ... then, I would be upset. But, this is Cam y'all! Y'all are basing his statement on one bad game? I believe him and he has my total support. Does any of the old heads remember ray seals statement ... back in the day? He was tired of the linebackers getting all the shine and was determined to get his and the rest of the dline some respect

But defva that one bad game was a doozy of a bad game and was probably the worst defensive performance in Steeler playoff history. And to be fair, the D-line and the rest of the defense had more than one bad game last season.

So this is all Heywards blame, he is suppose to just shut up sit around and wait till next year? Come on we lost Shazier and his back up and we have a coaching staff that actually thought Mitchell can play in the NFL. I don't disagree with you guys that our D stunk last year what kills me is how you want to all attach a guy trying to be positive. I think you all are Steeler fans but I really just can't believe most would rather talk bad about this team then root for it. You can say what you want Cam had a pretty damn good season but this is a TEAM sport!
