Cam can't have Iron Head but...

Players across the league can wear 1 eye black sticker? I just don't understand the NFL and their decisions. How is writing Iron Head on Cam's eye black a uniform violation yet purposely wearing only 1 eye black sticker is ok?

 

I was curious if he did it yesterday. I never heard anyone say. I think he can get in pretty big trouble if he keeps it up but I was thinking it would be cool if other guys from the team would step up and do it too and just keep that going to stick it in the league's eye. After the Greg Hardy stuff they said that they wish the league would quit focusing on these thug type guys and focus on the guys that do good. Well the guys that do good get fined for it. So there ya go.

 

So true, BFT. This league is becoming a joke. Commish can suspend anybody, anytime...except Tom Brady. Ben takes an illegal low hit, no flag, no fine. Three weeks later Mariotta takes a similar hit, perpetrator is flagged and fined. Makes no sense.

 

No, he met with the league and they lowered his fine and he agreed to wear eye black that said "Tackle Cancer" instead. Williams is denied the request to wear pink to honor his mother who died of cancer and Cam can't wear eye black that says Iron Head on it. Its good to see the NFL is so serious about the whole breast cancer awareness. Yes, I know Cam's dad didn't die of breast cancer, but it's still cancer.

 

This is why I said the team should stick it to the league and make an Iron Head logo to place on the back of the helmets to honor Cam's dad

 

Awesome idea, but Rooney won't do that.

 

I read somewhere, possible on this board somewhere, that he wasn't going to do it anymore because he didn't want it to turn out being something that would be detrimental to the team. Some of us agreed that Steelers Nation should wear Iron Head eye black to the games in support of Cam. I thought that was a great idea.

 

I was thinking the entire team should do the Iron Head eye black for a game. Would Goodell fine an entire team? How bad would he look if he did? I think that would raise some positive attention and put Goodell in a tough spot.
