The offense has been unable to use whoever has played in the slot for years in the Steelers offense. The offense has been flawed. It started with Ju Ju. Then it was Claypool. Now Austin.

The slot was never utilized in the offense. That was under multiple quarterbacks.

It has been a flaw in the design of the offense and the implementation of it.

Im too lazy to look him up, but the same draft was a CB taken by the jets, won DROY……. They battled in college and he couldn’t stop Austin lll, said he was the hardest wr he had faced in his college career.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting him to be healthy and used .

He is our secret weapon and I Predict he’ll have a great year. The Steelers know it and is part of the reason they wanted to get rid of DJ!!!!

CA3 was an outside the numbers WR in college. I read a lot of posts saying he is too small to play outside the numbers in the NFL. I disagree with that analysis. Sauce Gardner agrees with me.

CA3 was playing basically his rookie year last year, with an offensive coordinator who didn't believe in throwing the ball down the field. Let's see how he looks in a play action offense before we ditch him.

DJ missed games 2-5 last year

Even with DJ out Austin amassed a whopping 6 receptions during that period

    And he’s a shrimp

It was Sauce Gardner. There’s a YouTube video showing plays from their matchup. The QB play was just terrible. I mean… beyond horrendous. But he did give Gardner trouble.

Austin had 28 touches on offense last year for 237 yards and 2 TD's. I hope Arthur Smith can get the ball to him a lot more than 28 times.

Calvin reminds me a lot like Pickett, not quite sure if the OC held him back some or is it him. He didn't get targeted much last year. I guess we will see what happens now with a new QB and OC.

We have hardly seen him, I blame the last regime, he has not had a chance to show what he can do.

If Smith knows what a slant is, Austin should have some success.

I do too, he's the fastest player on the team. I'm hoping Smith can figure out how to get the ball to him in space and let Austin use his speed.
