I can already hear all these media talking heads saying that next year in Tomlin's defense, instead of them boasting that he's never had a losing season. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it?

As soon as he has a losing season, what little remains of his veneer will be lost and I predict that the media will become more hostile towards him. In many ways, they're propping him up solely based on that record - it's lazy, but it's true. That may not be the case here much longer. Honestly, at this point, I think I might actually be more upset if he somehow still pulls a .500 season out at the last minute. It's time for a change. I mean, I'll always be happy with a Steelers win, a last minute win streak also wouldn't really help us - at least not on that front.

No. If you were hiring a coach for your team in Madden and could only see coaching stats and not see their face pictures, Tomlin would be selected a high percentage of the time. Before Jacksonville hired him, would you have swapped Tomlin out for Urban Meyer?

    Why would that be exactly?

I'm not sure that would be true if it was just a losing season where they were losing close games to good teams. The way they are losing now it's what puts it over the top. They are not only losing, they are non-competitive against bad teams.

When you win it doesn't matter how. When you lose it does matter how.
