Steelers were up 10-6 half way into the 3rd quarter when the D gave up a 90 yard, 8+minute drive! The D could NOT have been gassed early in the second half.

That is embarrassing for the D to do early in the second half! BTW, this happened after Pickens dropped the 3rd down pass - Fields did his job.

 

16 of those 73 plays came in one drive! Unacceptable defensive performance.

 

Exactly. Our offense isn’t great but it is exactly what and where we expected the offense to be. I am very disappointed in this defense. We keep spending more money and adding more pedigree but it is the same problems year after year. This is a philosophical and schematic issue and it falls on the coaches.

 

Yeah a big one at the top.

 

Or.....the new players are getting confused. I believe the guy calling the plays on the field is a new guy. Plus....the Defense is the least of our problems

We here this same old lame excuse every year, that it is miscommunication. It gets old.

When you D holds the opposing team to 13 points for 59 plus minutes of play and your O gives you 226 total yards in a game, 3 for 12 on 3rd downs, and your D gives you 2 turnovers you do nothing with, no Fields and the O did not do their job. The D sucked, but what could have easily been a 3 score shellacking was not. You hold the opposing team to 13 points until that last drive, we should have been in control. The whole team sucked in every phase.

 

Ughhhhh, I don’t know if your being super positive or naive. Either way we need them to play like a number one defense from here on out.

I'm being neither. We are the number 1 Defense in points allowed. Tell Me one stat that matters more on Defense.

There are a small number of people here who don’t watch the games well don’t understand the game well and who just make crap up out of frustration.

It’s a message board they are welcome to be here and welcome to be wrong.

I understand that but it is all matter of context and what have you done for me lately. I sincerely hope they can stay the number one defense. I am hopeful they get more aggressive or I fear they will lose that spot.

 

I don’t know it appears there is an equal amount of fans blaming the defense. Bottom line both units are playing poorly.

 

The offense certainly needs alot of work, but be honest did you have high expectations for them at the beginning of the year? I didn’t. I expect the defense to carry this team the whole season.
