we may be back in the same boat at the time we drafted jones. moats has been really unimpressive as well. i think we will have to draft 1 and possibly pick up a FA too. as dupree gets back to it, we may find some help for chick and harrison. dupree should help them get freed up somewhat. another good sign for this position to pick up is hargraves and tuitt demanding more attention. these 3 are key in our pass rush improving for the rest of this year, then we will have to look at where we are.

Funny how LeBeau kept playing Hood while Heyward sat...

You would really consider keeping Jarvis Jones? What have you seen that screams let's keep this guy? Even on the inside. He has lost out on the 4 man OLB rotation. It's over...

For depth, yes. And we will find out who doesn't get a hat on Sunday. He's playing better than Moats, IMO.

Jamain Stephens was never considered the number one player coming out in the draft by at least one well-known draft analyst and one of the top 5 by many more draft analysts. Stephens was never considered a "plug and play" (ugh, that phrase again), can't miss prospect coming out by most draft analysts. Stephens was never considered the steal of the draft because he fell all the way to pick 16. Because of the lofty expectations, right or wrong, JJ carried with him to the Steelers, I still contend that he is a bust of epic proportions.

We have seen some very underwhelming #1 picks over the years. Darryl Sims, John Reinstra, Tom Rickets, Huey Richardson, Jamain Stephens, Troy Edwards etc. Even in the Steel Curtain years the Steelers drafted a CB Dave Brown who lasted just one season. Just the nature of the beast. Considering the expectations of those who didn't hate the pick, Jarvis Jones should be considered a bust.

Horse hockey. The guy has come up short at OLB for 5 years and now you want to switch his position to try some more? As a first round choice, if he had any potential there, they would have played him there. Let's try Limas Sweed at CB.

Your point? They did offer him a long term contract. It's right there he turned it down and played out his "tagged" year. Went to free-agency and retired.

You're just trolling at this point.

It's not trolling to understand the context and origination of the conversation.

Jarvis is a bust plain and simple. He was a high 1st rd pick that didn't live up to and perform as expected. Part of the problem is in who drafted him. Yea he had a very outstanding final college season but his physical skills didn't match what the NFL requires. Is he a bust as a football player? I think not. He's a good run defender. He's good dropping in coverage. He's a solid tackler. He is NOT an edge defender/rusher. The steelers need that and won't move him inside because we don't need help there. He is done here. His career isn't !!! Some team will take him and move him inside in their 3-4 or outside in their 4-3!!!! We'll get a comp pick for him unlike What happened with Worilds.

We probably won't get a comp pick for him as his contract will be minimal and comp wise will be offset by signings we make

I really wanted us to take Eifert. He has been a good player but really has been on the field for a year and a half in his first 4 seasons. Trufant would've been nice, as would Collins and Reid. It's a good thing we passed on Patterson and Elam tho. JJ had been a better pro than both of those guys. Nuka on the other hand hahha him and AB would be insane.

JJ has been disappointing. Not an awful player just not right for us. He really hasn't made much of an impact. Colbert doesn't screw up first rounders often but he definitely missed here. Let's hope the next high OLB pick turns out better. We might be taking one next year.
