No need to worry about a player who was non consequential to winning or losing in 2018. He also had no impact upon locker room controversy last year too. Goodbye to a player who can't stay healthy.

There are a few former Steelers that I would like to see get kicked in the nuts. Burnett is definitely one of them.

Lots of hate for Burnett out here. I don’t feel that way. When he signed, we had let Mitchell, Golden and Wilcox go. Our only safety of note was Davis. We then draft a strong safety in the first round a few weeks after signing Burnett. When Burnett gets injured, Edmunds subs in and keeps the starting job. Upon his return, Burnett gets put into a dime backer role much of the time instead of his more natural safety position, and of course he struggled. When he got true safety reps he looked OK (to me anyway).

I know nothing is ever guaranteed to a player other than the money guaranteed in his contract, but I think it’s safe to say that things didn’t go nearly the way he envisioned. I honestly don’t blame him for wanting a fresh start elsewhere.

The Steelers can find Burnett's replacement in the draft, that player will be younger and cheaper, also healthier .

No hate for the man here. I'll continue feeling pity for anyone who signs with the Browns until the "they're gonna be good this year" drum beating actually proves true.
