Precisely what I'm getting at - he has never done anything. But if his excuse is "I've done everything I can short of going out on the field and pulling him off", then I've got some swampland down here in FL for anyone that believes that load of bull. He's the HC, he can bench anyone he wants with just a word. Lewis then: A) doesn't care that Burfict is a career-ending wrecking ball B) is afraid of him or C) is oblivious to Burfict's behavior.

The answer is one of the above, and that just is unacceptable. Lewis needs to be held accountable for what transpired Sat night.

    I agree.

Example: Bell is Tomlin's favorite. As far as I know Bell was "punished" by playing extra snaps preseason for his DUI. That's it.

    Agreed.

    Mostly Lewis' fault IMO.

Milberry shoved Porter, Burfict was an animal, Pacman was his usual idiot self, Nelson shoved Munchak twice, Iloka ran into the tunnel, Maualeuga ran into the tunnel, another (maybe aforementioned) ran off the bench onto the field to shove a Steeler...

Too many Bengals acting like idiots for it not to be Lewis' fault.

The expression "Lunatics running the asylum" has never been more valid... and that is directly on the warden.

Heard interviews today of players who played against him. All agreed he's a talented player but there's a reason he went undrained and he has a screw loose. Seriously...he plays with the intent to hurt someone. He's dangerous and needs to be evaluated, anger management etc before he's allowed back

Good. I think we'd all have liked more but really, 3 is about the most I expected and Cincy not having him for 3 games is a significant blow to them. As much as I hate the son of a *****, he is everywhere on the field, helps that team a lot.

Considering the Mental make-up of the Bengals roster...maybe Marvin Lewis would be wise to hire a couple of new Assistant coaches....like say....

He's only making 570 k. Luke Kuechly who did get drafted makes 3x as much plus 7 mill in signing bonus.

My point being it definitely will hurt him in his wallet. But unfortunately it won't make him better. He's been continually fined since college.

I wasn't going to say anything to bring up more debate and I'm not bringing up specifics. I live in Ga. I know people involved on both sides and law enforcement.

Ben was guilty of being drunk, arrogant and let himself be teased by drunk floozy college girls in awe of an NFL star... she consensually wanted to be with him...and he was stupid to oblige to be alone with her.

Unfortunately, as women...we have encountered these situations all our lives. I never let myself be alone in that setting...

    Anyway...my 2 cents

Actually, Ben got SIX games. He had to let Goodell reprimand him face-to-face to get it knocked down to four games.

I'm seriously scared for anyone who is around Burfict during the off-season. This suspension is not going to sit well with him. The anger is going to keep building and building inside him. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get himself involved in some kind of trouble.

I'm hoping for the same thing. All it will take is for some troll to get call him out a bar and that should seal the deal. There was some QB this just happened to recently? I think TCU and missed the bowl game.

Unfortunately, Burfict's fines of ~$120k pale when compared to his 2015 contract income of $5,175,000. That's like a $2000 fine for the Average Joe (akin to the cost of a lawyer to beat a DUI?).

The suspension, if upheld, will set him back $717k next year (from his $3,825,000 total).

    From Spotrac:
YEAR AGE BASE SALARY SIGNING BONUS ROSTER BONUS WORKOUT BONUS CAP HIT DEAD CAP
    2014 23 $700,000 $775,334 $3,800,000 - $5,275,334 $6,904,334
    2015 24 $1,050,000 $775,000 $3,150,000 $200,000 $5,175,000 $5,675,000
    2016 25 $2,850,000 $775,000 - $200,000 $3,825,000 $1,550,000
    2017 26 $3,750,000 $775,000 - $200,000 $4,725,000 $775,000

It is weak at best, 6 games and a warning that if it happens again it will be a year and after that you are out of the league would have been a much more appropriate messae

After all appeals he might get 2. He is a criminal element that does not
    belong in the NFL.

Farrior must be concussed. Ward retired the year before Burfict came into the league.

The NFL needs to start dealing with some of these issues in the game. So a guy gets a fine latter in the week for something that affects the outcome of a game. Burfict should have been ejected as well as Pacman.

Thought i was looking at 2015 numbers and now I see they were 2014 lol my bad lol!.

My opinion though is it still will hurt him. Who's going to sign him to any real money ( I guess there is always, somebody) in the future with his reputation .

On the bright side... he's now achieved suspensions. Meaning any more of this crap from him and he'll be getting hit with serious suspensions. AND we all know that IS going to happen.

In my opinion the whole reason we have this continual discussion is because the league does nothing evenly. The officiating is a joke. The way they hand out disciplinary actions is a joke. Roger Goodell has no business being the commissioner. I can't figure out why the owners continue to support him.

If you guys go back and check the timeline the girl was ask if Ben Raped her. 1st answer was I don't know
Spent time with her friends then ask again said I think so
Spending the night with her friends she was asked again and the answer was Yes
It lingers till Ben is suspended 6 games. Charges never filed
Bens appeal there are no charges and not going to be any but his suspension is dropped to 4. Why?
That is the way I remember it. Could be wrong but got no friends here to tell me what happened
