3 games isn't enough for this guy to learn his lesson in my opinion. He'll be right back to doing it next year. It looks like Lewis, the players and the coaches all think that what Jerry Porter did was worse then what Burfict did. They are delusional and if they take no responsibility then you know he won't change.

I've heard that Calvin Johnson is a stand-up guy. I think players reputations are usually well deserved.

As long as Burfict is on the same field as our offense this "punishment" is meaningless

He is responsible for INTENTIONALLY trying to injury Roethlisberger, Brown, and Le'Veon....IS THIS A ****ING JOKE?? He's the reason we won't have a shot to win the Super Bowl and the league couldn't care less.

"As punishment for Burfict's dirty play, the NFL is mandating that the Bengals be forced to keep Marvin Lewis as their Head Coach in perpetuity. This ruling eliminates the Bengals from Super bowl contention for the foreseeable future, and is considered the harshest punishment ever handed down from NFL offices."

    As per league sources.

3 games is not enough for that dirty POS. Should have been double that, maybe more. What a joke the NFL is. I guess we should know not to expect Roger to do his job.

I'm quite surprised this happened so quickly. And I have to admit it is more than I thought would happen.
That being said, I'm willing to be that his suspension is somehow the Steelers fault, according to the dimwits that populate comment sections on many of the sports websites.

This hurts Burfict a lot. When Burfict's contract is up teams will not want him. Not only do you have to worry about injuries but also suspensions. On top of that his ability to lose games with bonehead penalties.

Every red flag regarding Burfict coming into the draft has been proven to be true.

This is likely the first of many suspensions.

Hate Belicheck all you want, but if Burfict were a Patriot on Saturday night, he wouldn't be Monday morning. Remember how he handled Spikes? I wish more coaches handled these thugs this way. Burfict is a fantastic talent but he's a mental case that is only going to get worse. He needs to be out of the NFL before he kills someone.

I think it is more likely that Burfict will be seriously injured. The Steelers and Ravens OL will be doing everything they can to dominate Burfict physically and I wouldn't be surprised if he stats getting cut blocked.

Burfict does not have the physical power of a Ray Lewis or James Harrison.

Burfict gets run over by linemen every game and it will only get worse.

Bengals riled up the AFC North. Their injury report is going to be full from here on out. I guarantee you that Dalton does not have the balls to win in games where he is getting slammed into the turf every third pass.

Players don't act that way for Belichek, and in the rare case that they do, they are shipped out of town regardless of how valuable they are to the team. Some coaches can control their guys, others can't. Tomlin seems to have pretty good control, unfortunately I just think he allows too much petty nonsense to go on (such as celebrations that cost us 15 yards), but he does seem to have command of the team

The Rooney's were irate with Ben for being in that situation and I have always wondered if they helped broker that suspension.

This league is for the pits. What kind of action is that. Should have a 6 games suspension (3x2 offenses) and a 50.000 fine.

Biggest load of :bscow: that I've ever heard. Since when does a HC have to "get on the field" to tell a player he's benched? What a cop out. He has absolutely lost control of his band of criminals.

This is precisely why I think Lewis needs to be suspended an entire season. He knew about Burfict's actions and potential to commit brutal thuggery, yet still allowed him to suit up in a nationally televised playoff game. And then proceed to almost take someone's head off.

Burfict's a low life, but I'm not certain Lewis gets much more praise than that, either.

Not to hijack the thread, and this I the only thing I'll say on it, but MT's problem with allowing things to go on is because he insists on being their buddy. It's quite obvious Belichek is no one's friend, but he commands their respect, that's for sure.

I doubt Boykin, Mendenhall, Todman, Mike Adams, Golden etc. ever thought Tomlin was their "buddy."

Tomlin has certain favorites that he may be buddy-buddy with but conversely he has players that will always be in the doghouse or riding the bench.

    Not disagreeing.

I would like to point out that Lewis has never benched Burfict for any of his multiple transgressions including Ankle Gate, and that Lewis DID go on the field just BEFORE Joey Porter.

Point taken, but you get my drift. He allows "some" of them to get away with stuff that most disciplinarians would not - from excessive celebrations to simply being on the field when they should be riding pine for lack of performance when someone better is available.

Marvin Lewis is showing how little he believes in accountability.

Lewis is blaming the refs! "They call some not others" haha!

    What an ***hole.
