burfict sure does bring memories of Tatum from the 1970s
Tatum was a natural dirty player who was good at playing dirty until he paralyzed stingley
Tatum and Atkinson both targeted Lynn swan and knocked him out twice
Hated them just as I hate Burfict now

I do remember those Raider teams. They sort of prided themselves on playing dirty. I would have loved to see Heinz Ward in his prime go against that raider secondary.

Yeah, the Raiders had some rough jokers back then. Don't forget about Hayes and Haynes, they were equally as bad. Hated em.

It reminds me of this image, but I think it was the other Raiders safety, Atkinson, who laid out Swann this time.

Tatum dropped guys like they just got shot. Burfict is nowhere close to the hitter he was.

Different era.. This day in age, he's just repeatedly hurting his team and can't seem to stop himself. Yeah, he would have probably been revered years ago... As much as we all hate him.

The whole league was that way back in the 70's. The Steel Curtain wasn't a bunch of choir boys.

Mel Blount would destroy people. Much of today's pass interference calls became to light, because Mel Blount destroying WR's before they even had a chance to catch the ball.

Lambert, Greene. Them boys could be nasty. Greene toned it down from his early years. Early on he was a dirty dude at times, just watch the old game tape.

The whole league used to think Hines Ward was a dirty player too, but we all loved him. Because he wore black and gold. But, we would call Hines dirty if he were playing on the opposing team I'm sure.

Yep. Clubbed him the back of the head away from the play. The Raiders were indeed the, "criminal element."

Watch the highlight video at the top of that article and you will see Burfict getting routinely worked, rarely even in the play, and often not even trying to get back into the play. Several times I saw him watch from a few feet away as his teammates made gang tackles. I don't think he is the player he once was and I expect that as his skills continue to diminish he will not handle it well and we can expect his frustration to lead to even more dirty crap. His time in the league is coming to an end one way or another. What we really need is for him to pull some dirty **** on a league golden boy. Then they might actually come down on him like he deserves.

Tatum could play; Atkinson was a stooge. Burfict was a serviceable NFL linebacker at one time, now he's a sick joke. I watched most of the KC/Cincy game last night, and The Terrible Owl's observations are spot on. #55 in black and orange was a non-factor, then went out early in the fourth with an apparent hip injury. I honestly thought that he was probably faking it to avoid the rest of the slaughter. Stick a fork in the Bungles, they are done.

    Think mostly the Rats did.

And while I might have hated Hines if I was a fan of one of our division rivals, I've never agreed about the dirty part and has nothing to do with black and gold glasses. Show me what he did that was dirty. I've always felt thats our fans trying too hard to be fair when they say that.

Burfict is a true blue dirty player trying to cause injuries.

I was the biggest Burfict guy on this board since he was in college. But even I have seen enough. His next suspension should be for the year.

They didn't call Tatum "The Assassin" for nothing! He was dirty but, more than just dirty. He could play! Burfict is dirty just to be dirty!
