Not surprised. He should be fined for that! Right at the knees in an unnecessary hit!

He's such a dirty player that he'll end up in the studio right next to Rodney Harrison!

He supposedly apologized. I wish someone would go low on Burfict. Gronk was lighting him up today and he just couldn't take the fact that he was getting owned. Him and his little thug brigade with Pac Man were both jawing hard. However, actually manning up and stopping Gronk? Not so much.

Brady said that the Bengals play rougher than necessary, and Gronk is upset about the way Burfict hits other players?

Ranault: "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!"

If anyone needs to be stomped though, it's Blount. Too bad they couldn't just beat the snot out of each other.

Not Surprising! He was doing it all game in the Play-offs!

He would stomp a foot and play innocent when he got hit back! You see Peko coming in and acting all bad ass just like in the Play-off game.

There's just something about what he does to that team when he's on the field. It's like they turn off the respect your opponents switch!

You know what amazes me about all of this? The butthurt that the Bengals fans get when you point out how much of a scum this guy plays like. And they try and turn it around and say the Steelers are the dirtiest team in the league. Uh, huh?

If the league is consistent, the fine and suspension should be yuuge.

I post on one of their boards and that is their MO whenever you try to discuss Burfict. Every reply to every point I make about his shennanigans on Sunday brings up Ryan Shazier, Mike Mitchell, or James Harrison. You just have to ignore it and stay on topic.

Oddly enough I do empathize with some of their stuff about Burfict. His situation is nearly identical to what James Harrison went through when he was the leagues whipping boy. But their over the top defense of the stomping on Blounts leg is ridiculous. Honestly though, they're probably split 40/60 on that one, with the 40% realizing just how of sh**ty of a play it was.

Fair enough with the comparison between Harrison and Burfict, but I think the difference is it didn't appear to me that James has ever played with malicious intent. It seems as though Burfict's goal is to hurt people. Something isn't right in his head. It honestly wouldn't surprise me to see Burfict get pinched for using steroids, as there have been many instances where they've made people become unstable.

Yeah there is a difference. They both play (played for James...he's learned) recklessly and on the edge which lead to the big questionable hits that get them in trouble. But James never did any of the foot twisting, ankle stomping, nut grabbing stuff that Burfict does and thats the difference. That's the truly dirty stuff.

I am more impressed at how Cincy fans defend many of Burfict's past transgressions...

.... all the while berating steelers fans and players for placating them on the same level as Burfict.

If their is a holy trinity for a psychological disorder within a fanbase of sports.. it looks like this:

Choice Supportive Bias: Cincinnati fans support Burfict's actions while eviscerate players like Ryan Shazier even though Burfict's actions are more ruthless in nature.

False Consensus Effect: Bengals fans believe that Burfict's actions showcase toughness and bring nasty to the team; being reminded over and over it is nothing more than self-important, arrogant shenanigans.

Semmelweis Effect: Bengals fans dismiss or ignore said incidents by Burfict despite such actions being well documented in Burfict's career.

Each of these cognitive bias traits really showcases just how naive the players and fanbase really are. In the same token, I guess this is why they cannot ever get past the wildcard round.

The difference is not just within their styles of play.. but how they approach it.

For James.. it is about making a play..

For Burfict.. it is about getting even.

Burfict's behavior is more intriguing the more these incidents surface. He is trying to be the enforcer for his team yet places his own self-importance before the other 10 guys.

Truly the most glaring form of cognitive dissonance I have seen since the days of Terrell Owens.

I was listenign to the radio and the guys were saying that a veteran on the Bengals needs to tell Burfict and Pacman to cut it

    They don't have it.

I seriously think they're scared of him when he's in there.

Peko would probably be the one to do it, but is a different person when he's around Burfict! It's like he's trying to kiss up to "Spike the dog"!

"Hey Spike! Look I just stomped his foot Spike!" "Hey Spike! Did you see me kick him in the shin? Huh?! Did ya Spike!"
