That wasn't his doing, it was Hines, and...........Ben and,.................an OC that everyone hated, and a DC that most everyone seems to hate now!

Can.Not.Even. If I had been watching this game at home on the computer I probably wouldn't have seen the second half, and that may have made for a better day. Growl.

In the 2015 draft, we need to draft CBs with every SINGLE pick. And maybe, just maybe we can stumble upon two who are actually worth a sh**. The NFL is a passing league. It's time for the front office to understand this. The landscape of the NFL has changed. We have failed miserably to understand this.

.........and with all that, he had 3 losing seasons and one at 8-8, AFC champs twice and SB champs once.

Even the best corners will get carved up without pressure, especially with the plethora of slot receivers, receiving TEs and RBs attacking defenders other than the 2 starting corners. Yes, I'd like to see better corners, and I think we need to invest draft picks at that position. But I think priority #1 needs to be finding guys who can get into the dang backfield.

No, but in fairness I really hadn't heard much about Cowher either. I want to be careful here and I'm not trying to cast aspersions, but the Rooney Rule is named after the owner of the team. I guess a fair question to ask would be if Dan Rooney was more motivated to hire a minority candidate than he ordinarily would have been? I'm not trying to go down controversial avenue, TTF, but I'm sure the question has come up in some peoples' minds. I don't necessarily feel that way and I remember that Tomlin's stature seemed to be growing and he had developed a good reputation as a DC. I believe the Steelers were simply following the model that they had employed before and were trying to hire a good, young, bright coordinator as head coach before he caught the attention of too much of the rest of the league. Do I think Whisenhunt or Grimm would have been better options at the time? No, not really. But I'm also starting to doubt whether or not Tomlin can truly re-build this team after an exodus of solid veteran leadership. He'll get the chance to because Rooney isn't going to fire him, that I feel certain about. For that reason, I hope he turns it around soon because, like it or not, he's our head coach for the foreseeable future.

There's plenty of blame to go around for this loss, the O-line giving up 5 sacks. Antonio Brown for dropping that flea flicker it would've sealed the game. The secondary as usual can't cover anybody, the lack of pass rush especially at the end of the game. Spence giving up that 20 yard completion was a killer. The refs were throwing flags all day but on one of the Bucs TDs there was a blatant hold on Spence and no flag thrown on that play. The playcalling at the end of the game, they throw on 2nd down then get conservative on 3rd and 5 and run the ball. The penalties as a team and Polamalu is a liability at this point missed tackles and penalties, he can't make up for them anymore with splash plays.

True. I think the only blameless player in this game may be Heath.

Wait don't discount the Personal Foul for complaining that there was no penalty called on Spence......

At that point you're an official and you missed a blatant call that you cannot go back and make....swallow your pride and let the guy vent.

The Rooney rule was put into effect because many minority candidates were being passed over for interviews, teams would just hire retread coaches. There's no pressure to hire anybody, the Steelers said they were blown away by Tomlin in his interview. I really don't care why he was hired, we got our #6 Super Bowl that's all that matters.

Im not saying here wasnt a good cord, i believe Minn"s D was #1 when he was hired, But i also remember D.L and D.C having a prty good defence and there head coaching stints did not lst to long,, I too believe THE JOB IS TO MUCH FOR HIM

 None of us were even born the last time the Steelers fired a coach. Let's be like the Browns and Raiders fire the coach every year and still suck. The players lost this game on the field, but everybody deserves blame even the coaching staff. It's a good thing the Rooney's don't listen to clueless fans :dancing:

Lots of teams (basically every team but us) fire their coaches when they have repeated down years like us, and they don't all suck like the Browns or Raiders. Not sure why you think firing a coach has anything to do with the Browns.

Keeping coaches isn't a Steelers thing, it just so happened that we had 2 very good coaches who didn't deserve to be fired. It's not like if you retain a bad coach long enough that he becomes a good coach
