It's called undrafted free agents, and the steelers gave try outs to 3 UDFA QBs and didnt sign anyone, heres the 3 QBs they tried out: The quarterbacks were Nick Arbuckle, a rookie from Georgia State; Dalyn Williams, a rookie from Dartmouth; and Jacob Huesman, a rookie from Tennessee-Chattanooga.

 

Really?! You might as well have given me a tryout and I'm 52

 

you probably have 5-6 years of playing time left in ya defva. sign him to that extension.

Help him stay in the pocket

 

He's a nice kid but unfortunately he is going to get a good dose of welcome to the NFL friday, with very little timing reps and little knowledge of the play book he could have a tough outing if he holds on to the ball too long which happens when a QB isnt confortable, sacks and picks will happen if he isnt very careful..........

 

With the pathetic state of back up QBs in the league and the realization that if Ben goes down for any extended period of time our season is over anyway....does it even make sense to carry a third QB over say a extra LB or WR or any other positions for that matter. I know some Steeler writer Dulac? Maybe mentioned the possibility of only keeping 2. I'd definitely be in favor of that myself...thoughts?

 

I doubt it, they always carry 3 QBs. Some in the media said they may only carry 2 early on until Gradkowski gets healthy.

 

Grad has to wait on his new Medicare card to be mailed.

 

I think we should only carry 1 QB and use the BU spot for more weapons for Ben....If he goes down just go wildcat or take a knee 3 times and punt ....

I'm sure your probably right but after Ben and Landry to which there is already a huge drop off they could pick up any journeyman along the way to lose some games.....**** I'm sure I could lose a few in a pinch. I just don't see the point in possibly having to get rid of a more valuable player just to say yeah we have a third QB and he's useless. It will never happen but it's nice to think a little outside the norm...

 

if that were to happen we should just tank like Dallas, they got some good picks.
