Bryant still not officially reinstated for season opener

What better way to boost ratings than to milk out such a fuss?

 

How does that boost ratings?

 

Simple. Increase fan expectations by making them anxious about a star players return.


Artifical inflation essentially. By tapping into peoples emotions, Goodell is forcing people to read into social media, his foundation on how the NFL got so big in recent years, to generate interest for the game.


More interest means more viewership. More viewership means more revenue.

 

Not surprising. Goodell loves the damn spotlight.

As an aside, the article claims Martavius was asked to lose weight by Tomlin, and dropped down to 220 and 5% body fat. Two things about that strike me as odd.

1) I had heard MB had actually put on weight to get to 230, most of it being muscle.

2) How can a pro athlete be expected to play such a physically demanding sport at 5% body fat??? At that level, he would be tired just from putting his helmet on.

 

A natural athlete would be fatigued, but not most NFL players as they are on gear.

I've got to disagree on this one.

The only people who give a hoot are Steeler fans, and we are already as pumped as we can be.

 

this is disturbing. can he even practice since preseason is over without being reinstated? wasn't reinstatement only for preseason?

 

What the heck. Roger has some ego. Why can't he just fine James Harrison while Bryant practices with the team?

 

Steelers are gonna need Bryant for the Bears game and onward. The Bears game is the type of trap game the Steelers end up losing to inferior teams.. so they need all hands on deck.

I think the Steelers can beat the Browns and Vikings without Bryant... week 1 & 2.

 

Burfict hurts players gets five weeks and 2 get retracted within a week. Elliot has a rap sheet worse then Ben ever had and he is going to get out of some weeks also just watch... Bryant smoked weed???

 

Lighten up Francis. When Bryant isn't reinstated for the opener, feel free to vent your spleen. Until then it's a non issue.

Why hasn't the NFL reinstated Bryant for the regular season yet? Because, they don't have to yet.

 

Those who may be new to football or those who compete annually in fantasy football are also affected by players like Martavis.


The more dynamic a player is, the more interest a collective group of people will have



Besides, it is not just Martavis. There is also Ezekiel Elliot as well.

 

I have a feeling the Steelers will find out by the end of today. They have a right to know before the cutdown tomorrow. At least they should. Then again, with Goodell, who the hell knows.

The NFL has announced that Bryant has been conditionally reinstated for the 1st quarter of the Browns game. Goodell plans to reevaluate his eligibility after each quarter of each game this season.

 

We shall see if Rooney gets up in them guts if that the case.

 

Well, they reinstated him with 9 days to spare. Very thoughtful of ROg to address this non issue early, don't you think?
