What exactly did we win with Flores as LB coach?

I think they gave Flores that title when they hired him. Lb coach and Asst HC. I know Mike needs the help but you can only have so many Chiefs lol

For years we've complained that the Steelers don't make adjustments at halftime. In the last 6 games, the Steelers gave up 29 points in the second half. That's less than five points a game. In the last 5 games, we've given up 19 points in the second half, less than 4 a game.

Think about that. In the last 5 games, we've given up 1 td and 4 field goals in the second half. And the TD came yesterday.

So someone has to be responsible for those adjustments.

You always want to surround yourself with a braintrust.
I had figured Flores would be too toxic, but there are toxic teams like Cleveland and Houston.

I am pretty sure Flores wants to be a Head Coach again.
It all depends on what Pittsburgh wants to do, they could move on from Austin and install Flores with plans to make him Head Coach.
    It all depends.

I'm sure Tomlin could, but the thing is, why as fans do we want that?
We have no idea who did what in those back rooms. We don't know what roles they filled, who was responsible for what, etc.
We just don't know whether Flores is more important than Austin or vice versa.

We don’t but I’m sure other teams do. The tell tale sign is other teams are interested in Flores not Austin.

Minus the Spillane and Bush improvement comment, I agree.
Even other teams don't really know. They're making educated guesses, more educated than fans can, but still a guess.

You can disagree all you want, but there was definite improvement with both of those guys this year.

Spillane maybe, but only because he got more playing time. But okay, I guess I'll take back my comment on him.
Bush, I don't see it at all. I thought he was absolutely terrible.

Are you really trying to insinuate that Flores was in some way, shape, or form responsible for our offensive ineptitude?

I often wonder how that dynamic works. In Mitchell's case they promote him and hire Dunbar so what happens in practice and meeting rooms if what Dunbar teaches them is different than Mitchell. Do they say we'll Coach Mitchell says we do it this way.

What did we win with Munch as Oline coach? Still universally believed to be the best.

My point was if we keep Flores next season and he leaves afterwards, for a HC position, then we'd get picks.

    We'd meet the time threshold

I was just ribbing Strummer regarding a post on another thread. I mentioned Todd Haley being out last good OC and it took him two years of people wanting him fired before he turned out. He responded with the “what did we win with Todd Haley?”. Just having some fun with him at his expense :)

I like Flores and wouldn’t hate him being promoted to DC to keep him.

No, just having some fun at your expense lol just seemed like a similar conversation from the reverse point of view on our earlier conversation regarding Todd Haley. didn’t want it to be personal or anything, just thought it was funny and I couldn’t help myself

When first glanced at this thread title "Browns trying poach Flores" I thought there was competition for MacDaddyo's "What's Cookin" weekly topic. ;)

But if he gets poached this year, they get nothing.

Hell, just last year the Ravens had 2 1st rounders and 6 4th round selections! And they still had to trade for Roquan Smith!

I don't know, looked like he was able to get something out of Bush. Jack was hurting and really couldn't run most of the year. Robinson might develop into a thumper at least. They need an athletic MLB, but they have to be a little bigger than Bush.

Shazier missed a lot, but when he missed, he usually muddied up the play enough for everyone else to rally. Bush does none of that.

Looks like if you give him the talent, he can get them developed. The issue is the CBA though. He doesn't get to work with them until either rookie mini camp or the voluntary work-outs. If you want to know why it seems fundamentals are going away, look no further that that.

Bush will not be here next season as much as he improved.

Spillane I believe will be resigned and I saw improvement. So if that was Flores great. I feel Spillane is teachable.
