You can be too surprised that Flores is going to garner interest in DC coaching jobs in the league.

Some are even saying that the Texans may want him to be their head coach.

Tomlin kind of bridged an Olive Branch to him for the season... but I didn't think he be here as our Linebacker coach for too long.

There in lies the question. The defense was pretty innovative in making corrections this year to stop the run when it came to Carolina. Was that Flores, Tomlin or Austin? The defense lead the league in interceptions? Was that Austin, Flores or Tomlin. If Flores had a major impact on these aspects of the defense then I say you promote him. You would probably lose Austin though. Only the Steelers know what Flores brought to the table.

Call me jaded but this seems like when the Cowboys had Marvin Lewis interview for a job they had already given to McCarthy. He was too well respected to have anyone question it as complying with the Rooney Rule but it was a joke to do it. If the Browns are serious then good job Brian go get the new job, if the aren't then they have complied with the Rooney Rule and interviewed the most controversial coach out there and have a built in reason to not offer him a job.

our defense led the league in interceptions. Our defense only gave up more than 20 points in 4 games. Highsmith had 14.5 sacks. Double digit sacks from heyward. A fair amount of improvement from bush and Spillane… Were those things because of Flores? Only the people within the organization know for sure, but I’ll be t dollars to donuts he played a role in it.

 

Ya, if the D improving was due to Flores, then he should be the DC. There was definite change in the 2nd half of season for the improved D.
