...and it's a good thing to know, considering their acumen for evaluating QB talent the last 20 years.

Just look at their wise QB choices. We had, what, Kordell, Tomczak, O'Donnell, Maddox and Ben in that same span?

Suddenly 75% of the remaining junior class quarterbacks are declaring for the draft, since the Browns aren't interested in a QB

I remember Charlie Frye’s One game. He only made it out alive because they pulled him.

Couch could have been decent but he was pummeled behind a terrible o-line

Out of that entire list, I think McCoy and Anderson are the only semi-decent BACKUP QBs on the list. How can one team fail so thoroughly on QB selection? Dumb luck should have seen them sign a few decent QBs.

The Browns biggest problem is they don't take the time to actually develop anybody. This will be unpopular, but I think Deshone Kizer has a world of talent. He showed some flashes last year. I think the Browns would be better suited to build around him than draft a QB. I'd skip out on a first round QB if I was them.

Either way, I don't see the Browns winning more than 5 games next year. They will probably can Lewis and Haley at the end of the season. So it dosent matter who their QB is. The next coach will have them in the market for a new one anyway.

I dont care if you have johnny unitas. U have to build from inside out. They dont get that. Fix ur line and then get your qb. They have passed on some guys like thomas u can pencil in for 10 12 years.

He is only one they have selected

I agree the problem is with consistency they haven't had any and when they do start the same QB two years in a row the other problems conspire to cost that QB. They lose talented wr''s to drugs, they draft a power running back for a west coast system, they lose starting OL guys to injury. They change coaching staff and philosophy. They rake up tons of picks but aren't sure where to build and how one can build on another.

I have said it in the last few months, they should draft Barkley as their feature back in the first and compliment that. Kizer can run his read option offense off that with Gordon being the top WR and look to work in throws to the TE. Heck copy the Jags offense and run that. Johnson is a solid number 2 back and if Joe Thomas returns you have a corner stone on the line

All the QBs have their own cons.

I do think the Browns should take Barkley at #1. I don't think the Giants or Colts will go QB so then the Browns atleast have the option again at #4.

    Barkley won't last until #4.

If I was the Browns I would actually go Barkley at #1 and Quenton Nelson at #4.

    2 can't miss players.

I would then trade back up into the 1st to grab a QB like Rudolph.

I think Rudolph would be successful in a Todd Haley offense.

I would actually bet Haley is telling them to do exactly this sequence of picks.

they should take barkley #1 and then probably trade down a few picks and take lamar jackson...... i'm obviously hoping though, that they blow it again, since i'm getting quite comfortable with counting them as automatic wins every yr

If your going to list it like that, than the Steelers starters would have been Tomczak, Stewert, Kent Graham, Maddox, Ben, Charlie Batch, Dennis Dixon, Byron Leftwich, Michael Vick, Landry Jones. O'Donells last regular season game was 95

They also figured out a way to pass on a QB named Ben Roethlisberger. Still trying to figure out how they managed to screw that one up.

Not that I'm complaining by any means...

Oh no, I'm still trying to figure that one out as well...

It haunts me when I daydream about what that team could've done from 1992-1998 with a Hall of Fame QB

Nope. He not only lost us the Super Bowl but turned around a month later and signed with the Jets. He tried to say it was bc the Jets were the team to beat. I gonna be nice and stop right there. I have not said his name in decades.

    I actually liked Kordell.

Steelers seem to be really interested in Mason Rudolph? It's really got me wondering if we actually might take. QB?

They went to his Pro Day, but they had dinner with his receiver. Maybe a smoke screen. Maybe not.

Also at the dinner was safety Tre Flowers. (edit)

Now that the Jets have elected to pay a king's ransom towards moving up to number three overall, Cleveland can manipulate this draft anyway they see fit.

    Realistically, I would not be shocked if they took Barkley at number then Bradley Chubb at four. As asinine as the Chubb pick sounds, picture this;

A God Tier athlete in Myles Garrett paired up with an elite talent in Bradley Chubb flanking sides within the most competitive division in football? One quick way to let the NFL know that Cleveland is taking the right steps to get back into relavency.

Besides, Cleveland can just trade back up into the First Round with their abundance of picks and nab their guy there or nab whomever is available at pick 33 (likely Mason Ruldolph but we shall see).

I wouldn' be surprised if coaches want Barkley, but Haslam over rules and takes Darnold.
