Browns at Steelers TV Map (Now complete - see Truckin's thread)

All's well now but with minuscule TV coverage as expected. Also no surprise, NE/Buffalo is essentially Game of the Week with 90% US coverage.

The nfl has already stated the game won’t be made up this week. Wtf

 

Here's what the 506 TV Map Guru is still saying:

Is there talk of not playing the game at all and just use percentages???

 

I hope not. But who knows?

 

If the Bills and Cincy win this weekend, assuming they still play, then couldn't they play Cincy in a makeup game either Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Wild Card weekend since that outcome won't affect the lower Wildcard pairings? Or will it? Never mind, just looked at the pairings again and this messes everything up since only 2 NFC WC game spots are decided already. This being the case, they could push all post season games back a week, play the makeup game in Week 19 and shrink the SB week from 2 to 1 weeks as they've done before (I think).

 

OK - 506 is now showing Steelers/Browns announcers as Greg Gumbel, Adam Archuleta. I usually mute the volume and just watch the plays unfold myself so the announcers are immaterial to me. Tried linking with the radio game broadcast on Sirius/XM but there is an awful delay that is annoying.

Yes I saw this elsewhere. I'm just referencing our normal source 506 TV Map listings. Not sure why the TV Maps would be hung up since all games will proceed as scheduled. Seems strange.

Since this is affected by the Buffalo/Cincy severe injury incident I will go ahead and say that R. Gooddell has completely botched this unfortunate situation uncertain scheduling conflict. For someone who is a commissioner of the league that mandates coaches speak to the media a minimum of 3 days a week he sure is non existent. Really, nobody is going to know for certain what is going to come about for the rest of the schedule til Sunday evening. Unacceptable for him not to give some comments on the issue. Guy is in his position only to make himself and team owners very very rich.

 

Goodell is doing exactly what the NFL (a pit full of liability lawyers retained by the owners) tell him to do.

 

Roger is still on holiday. Cut him some slack.

 

It will be interesting to see how they will figure out who gets the number one seed in the AFC, if they don't resume that Bills/Bengals game.

 

Yeah I was reading that too. The Chiefs fans are upset because the one scenario being discussed is if the Chiefs win against the Raiders on Saturday and the Bills beat the Pats, that means the Chiefs will be 14-3 and the Bills 13-3. The plan being discussed by the league is to randomly select one of the Chiefs games played this season and change it to a tie. If they pick a game at random that the Chiefs had already won then the Chiefs record would be changed to 13-3-1 and the Bills would be the #1 seed because they beat the Chiefs. If they randomly select one of the 3 Chiefs losses then their record would be changed to 14-2-1 and be the #1 seed. I hate the idea but the Chiefs message board is saying this is what is being discussed.

The 506 still isn't showing Sunday's TV maps as of Thursday 2:27pm PST. Not expecting Steelers to have wide coverage but what is the delay with this so late in the week aside from what happened during MNF? Just checked and local CBS affiliate in LA just says "Regional Coverage" during both time slots when these are often posted on their websites with actual games a day or more prior to the 506.

 

Oh, I wonder if it has less to do with the damar Hamlin situation Monday night and more to do with the fact that all game times this weekend were TBD

 

I understand but haven't all game start times already been decided? Don't in-seat fans need to know this well in advance? Nothing's going to change between now and Sat/Sun unless Buffalo unexpectedly decides to forfeit Sunday against Pats which doesn't seem likely in light of Damar's improved condition. I'd imagine the 506's cartographer using the NFL algorithm could whip out endless map scenarios in a nano-second. I don't recall this map delay happening in past years for the last weekend. I guess this bothers me more than others since this is now my inherited job after JEH retired.

 

So now we know that the game is in fact canceled yet still no map.

 

If the NFL App is any real indication, my local CBS game for the 10am time slot in Portland will be the Patriots-Bills game.

 

They just posted the Fox game maps but nothing from CBS yet so no Steelers map yet.

I'd imagine this will be treated like Game of the Week with huge coverage. CBS Los Angeles is still showing a generic listing.

 

Yea. I kinda hoped the Steelers game was local here. I like watching at home because I get more sleep that way. My work schedule really makes watching games rough. But I've made it work.
