The #Saints[IMG] and #Broncos just finalized the deal on compensation and sources say New Orleans gets a first-rounder and an early pick — likely a 2nd rounder — but also give a pick back. Complex deal but now done. Sean Payton will be the #Broncos coach.

Read the actual deal was this year's first and next year's second for Payton and next year's third.
Payton was 152-89 with 1 Super Bowl win and 9 playoff victories in 15 years.
Tomlin is 163-93-2 with 1 Super Bowl win, 1 Super Bowl loss, and 8 playoff victories in 16 years.

They're so invested, both financially and with traded picks, in Russell Wilson that they might as well spend some more in order to try to get the most out of him. If anyone can, it's Payton.
If they can't get Wilson playing at his best, they're screwed with or without Payton.

I heard that is a 3rd round pick coming back.

Easy Winner here is the Broncos if Payton can turn Russell Wilson around.

No idea why the GM was not fired immediately at the end of last season, for giving Russell Wilson the 5 year $245 million extension that will keep him on the books until he is 40. The draft picks for the trade I could have lived with, but why extend a guy, coming of an injured season that has never played a down for your team and still had 2 years left on his contract?

All these crazy rumors were flying out of Denver last year about how Russel Wilson had his own private locker room, with his own private coaching staff.

Sean Payton ended all that crap.

Funny story about a reporter getting kicked out of Russell Wilson's entourage training camp tent last year.

Sean Payton Gives Seahawks Ex Russell Wilson 'The Denver Boot' (msn.com)
The Denver Broncos' training camp in 2022 featured a dual practice with the Dallas Cowboys, and I was fortunate enough to be in attendance ...

But unfortunate enough to find myself sitting in a shaded tent area where I wrongly assumed credentialed media might be allowed to take a load off.

"Are you with Mr. Wilson's group?'' a security type asked me.

"Nope, I'm just part of the lowly media,'' I explained ... at which point I was escorted out of the shaded tent area that was designated as the personal "entourage'' area for ..."Mr. Russell Wilson.''
