I wonder if that cliff actually starts about halfway through the first round. I suspect, but can not prove, that top 5-10 round 1 picks are holding up that success rate for OTs.

I recall a GM long time ago said that most drafts have only about 12-15 players that are true top talents with few negatives. After that the negatives (flaws) start stacking up on players. I suppose it's a glass half empty/full view. Look close enough and you can find things to be pessimistic/optimistic about.
