I think he's improving every game. He look great tonite against Bouldin. This is his 4th year. should have started contributing in his 3rd year. Ike look super also.

Agreed. We've all been hoping one of our young corners would step up and finally put the pieces together. Lewis has finally done that in year 4. I think it's likely Lake had something to do with that, after the turnaround we saw in Gay in his year 5. The missing link appears to be found.

Ike's playing outstanding right now. So's Lewis. So's Clark. Cortez Allen is doing well in nickel. Our defense just allowed 3 points against a team that put up what, 55 last week? Harrison looks like he's getting healthier. Run defense is improving. Timmons is playing great. Oh yeah, and we still have Troy Polamalu to add to the mix.

People have been complaining about our defense all year. Why is beyond me. If our offense could just stop shooting itself in the foot again and again and again, we could definitely win the Super Bowl. All the talent is there, we just aren't playing like we should.

Obvious good play by the corners tonight! Ike was a shutdown guy with Smith having no catch until the 4th qt and Lewis wasn't too far behinde in his play on Boldin

Keenan was everywhere tonight. Almost looked like what you'd expect from Troy if he was a corner.

And I was one of those people earlier this season wondering why the hell we kept this guy... He has proven me wrong a million times over the past several games.

Improving is a good way to phrase it.

Some weeks up some weeks down.

I'd be tickled pink if the D played like that all year.

Good thread. Definitely a reason to be hopeful about the future. The D played lights out last night and the secondary played tough pass D which allowed the front 5 to get in Flacco's grill.

The D's play over all has been outstanding as of late, we are going to need them to continue playing like this in order to weather this storm. Our biggest weakness on defense has been that we couldn't stop good QB's, well they shut down Eli and Flacco pretty good.

my biggest concern with the defense is still their lack of ability to get pressure on the qb. sure they had a couple sacks, but they were coverage sacks more than anything.

if they make the playoffs they arent going to look as good against Brady or Manning if they have time to throw. im hoping by playoff time Harrison and Woodley are back to their selves.

the biggest key to the way lewis is playing is they are letting him go man. he is a much better man to man corner then a zone corner as is cortez allen. if we can continue to go man to man with our three corners you will soon see the pressure go nuts from lebeau.
