This is a point that people like to either forget, or act like never happened. They just gave a contract to Austin, and then brought in Flores as a favor to him, a extended hand in his downfall.

i am guessing that is what the Steelers want to know.

His first OC Chad O'shea was fired after one season (2019)
They tapped Chan Gailey from the retirement couch in 2020, who resigned after the season.
Then went with co-coordinators in 2021, George Godsey and Eric Studesville

Not the kind of stability the Steelers look for.

That was with the Dolphins where they have lack of structure. Here, he would be working with Khan and Rooney. Very different situation.

True, but the HC directly deals with these people daily. Not saying it will be an issue and Flores has not grown as a leader but that is the risk, in my opinion. I would really like to know who Flores can get in here as an OC.

I think he was a linebackers coach with the Patriots when the Dolphins hired him to be the head coach. He had no leadership experience. The impressive thing was that he was able to install the defensive system with the Dolphins as if he was a coordinator for years. Now, several years late, he has 3 additional years of leadership experience with the Vikings, in addition to the Dolphins experience and one year with the Steelers. I think that's good.
I am sure Khan and Art will prioritize the offensive discussion in their interviews with defensive coaches, in addition to analyzing the culture fit.

Maybe he was a massive pain in the ass behind the scenes & more trouble than he’s worth. He wasn’t the first coach to be let go during a fairly successful tenure. There could be a million reasons why they fired him that had nothing to do with race.

To me, he just seems like the type to cry racism anytime things don’t go his way &, IMO, that’s a sign of low character & not the type of guy I want as the face of my PROFESSIONAL organization.

I’d rather just keep Tomlin if Flores is the replacement. I’ve wanted him gone for 4-5 years but at least he didn’t play victim, despite being booed & openly questioned. I take nothing away from Flores’ abilities. I’d be happy to have him if not for this bs. In fact, he was on my future wish list when Miami hired him. But, his episode turned me off, completely.

What are the chances Rooney is advocating running it back with Arthur Smith with these defensive guys?

Here is a problem I have with Flores, and nobody has brought up.
He was here, He knew the type of schemes we ran, what we liked, and what we didn't like, and yet it was one of our better games.

I think null. He said it in the presser, they are looking specifically for candidates outside of the organization and will leave it up to the new head coach to decide the fate of the current staff.

Like I said, I can learn from anyone. But in your case of football knowledge I am more likely to reaffirm what not to know for you. Some of course know more than on the 100 yard war. I highly doubt you are one of them.

Now on the boats maybe you can add something that I don't know. As they say, the best boat to have access to is your friends. I am not a boa constrictor fan boat type of guy :) Now here's where you can come into play. In your opinion, what is the cheaper boat to maintain? A 40 - 50 Viking or Nor tech a speed boat?

Agreed. The last thing this organization needs is some p*ssy at the helm who cries discrimination when he doesn’t get his way.

I’m curious why the Steelers hire the HC from outside the organization yet hired khan from within…
    Why make that a requirement?

I think Flores was running the Patriots defense even before they gave him the title of DC.

How do you define “structure”? By not firing your coaching staff and assistants regardless of how bad that they are at their jobs? No playoff wins in more than a decade? Not being prepared and losing to subpar teams? Out of control locker rooms?

Are you suggesting that Khan and Rooney are capable of elevating their coaching staff? If so, are you able to provide some examples of this?
