It was just a good professional move on the Vikings part

Hey we like you as our DC and we don’t want you going to another team to be DC

But if you can get a HC position that’s fantastic and good for you

    That’s all it was

In this coaching carousel cycle, for this year (probably get backlash for saying this), it seems Chris Shula's ceiling is interviewing for a HC job. He has earned an interview.

A great accomplishment - to get an interview for HC job. Got that feather in his hat for a HC opening next year or the year after.

On Friday ADAM “the bull” Gerstenhaber sat down with Minnesota Assistant Head Coach, Mike Pettine. When the topic of Brian Flores was brought up as a possible HC candidate, Pettine was asked what he thought of Flores, and the ex-Vikings Coach held his tongue:”

“Uh, probably not many that I prefer to share.. I mean, we didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things, and that’s why I spent the past year on offense .. I’ll take the high road on that one.”

There you have it, folks. I believe that’s the 3rd person now to not paint Floral in a favorable light (publicly).

He didn’t get fired from the Dolphins because he was a dick and wasn’t good at his job, he got fired because “systemic racism” and unfair hiring practices are running rampant throughout the league. *eyeroll* Hopefully Khan and Rooney are capable of seeing through this douchebag’s bullsh*t.

    Again.
I don't know how to make this any simpler.
We haven't seen a HC come in , and lose more games their 1st season than the previous HC. Not once. If You can tell me one that I'm missing I apologize. Until we do, we don't know what the Steelers will do. Also nobody in the ownership role of the Rooneys has ever done this before.
Now we can guess, but until we see it , we don't know how they will react.

    Trouble reading???
Name me a HC that came in , and sucked , didn't make a the playoffs their 1st year, and had a losing season outside of Noll who came in after a 2-11-1 record.

@Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace just warned against going down this path in another thread. We’re not going to start blowing up the board with discussion of racism. Been there, done that. I’m pretty sure I’ve already told you this back when you joined.

We know how they will react... if they won't fire a OC for 2 years of suckage, they certainly won't do so for a HC. We don't have to see a Steelers HC struggle to know how they will handle it. Why would it be different for a HC than an OC? And why would the air of caution be afforded to a coordinator and not a HC? I get that we haven't seen a HC struggle here since my dad was in grade school... but we know exactly how they will handle it based on how they handle everything else... Just because it hasn't happened before, doesn't mean they would handle it any different than they go about their business with everything else.

The organization that has prided itself on decades upon decades of stability isn't going to all of the sudden have a knee jerk reaction to failure. Simple as that.

You keep saying OCs, and DCs while we still won games.
Please my friend stay with the subject matter. We are talking HCs.
Again name me a HC the Steelers hired in the last 30 years that came in had a losing season, and didn't make the playoffs??
On top of all that. None of the people responsible for hiring a HC were responsible for the last two HCs.

The Chargers and Mike McDaniel just did the same thing. People reported him signing as OC with the Chargers as if he was pulling himself out of contention for a head coaching job, but he is interviewing for the head job in Buffalo.

If you want to make a case against Flores, there are plenty of ways to do it without invoking race.

Find one, or find another board to share dialogue with.

    Not in the least

I bet a lot of teams are extending coaching staff

Not unusual at all just good normal practice
