Fantastic hire IMO, he is an excellent coach by all accounts

 

This is an excellent hire.

If we keep Devin Bush, I'm excited to see what Brian Flores can do with him.

Actually though, Austin should be UNDER Flores! I'm assuming nothing else was out there...Since he's suing and all...

Dude? Seriously? If you were going to hire Flores, at least make him defensive coordinator.

 

No but seriously, why not hire him as D coordinator? He seems like a good Defensive coach. Maybe because of all the lawsuit stuff? I dunno

Because Tomlin is calling the plays so why does it matter?

 

Flores is better than the current DC. good hire

He's not yelling racism, he filed a lawsuit because he feels that is a problem with the process, it's his right and shouldn't preclude him from working in the NFL.

Also, how is this any different from Mike Munchak going from HC of the Titans to Steelers line coach?

 

But he did yell racism, ... yea he felt the problem was their wasnt enough black Hc in the NFL he compared some aspects of the NFL to a slave plantation .. And no diff just wondering why he would take a lesser job Good for him and all those involved but i woudnt want his baggage and all that comes with it

I am surprised that Steelers hired him after Flores sued the NFL, I did not think Flores would get a job but I was wrong

 

Like this a lot. Thought he had a chance to our DC. Wondering if they still plan to hire a DB Coach with Austin moving up.

 

Steelers got a big win here. Credit to Rooney and Tomlin for being professional and able to separate the lawsuit from what Flores brings to the team.

It is a good hire. I like it.

 

Definitely a good coaching resume, so is he being groomed for Tomlins replacement eventually or is this simply a PR hire in light of the fiasco in Miami? Hopefully the drama surrounding that situation and his recent comments do not become an issue here, we have enough as it is.

 

Bottom line is, both coaches when from being a HC to a position coach....neither were very successful as a head coach, Flores was probably trending up though...neither had winning records.
