Exactly. BA almost cost us that Superbowl. During the first half, we were moving the ball easily and went into halftime with a 17-7 lead. In the 2nd half, they made adjustments and shut us down. We did virtually nothing in the second half because they made adjustments and like usual, BA didn't. When have we seen that before? :frustrated:

It wasn't until Ben took control of the playcalling that we drove the length of the field and finally scoring a 2nd half TD.

Yes, I get it, we all love continuity and consistency, but our offence has been consistently bad since BA came to town. At what point do you guys finally admit that perhaps BA isn't a good OC. The guy has been a loser his whole life, from high school all the way up to the NFL. Just look at what he has done as a player and as a coach every where he has gone. The guy hasn't had a successful career. Thanks to the Steelers, he has a SB ring that he didn't earn and almost blew.

And why aren't teams lining up to hire a Super Bowl winning OC when there are so many bad coaches out there? We all know why...

Exactly. BA doesn't even get interviews. All the OC's from all the other good teams across the league (GB, NO, Atlanta, NE, etc) get constant interviews and usually an offer or two to be a head coach. Juicy Brucie doesn't get consideration for head coaching jobs at all, let alone interviews.

Hell, even Jay Gruden in Cincinnati is getting a lot of calls.

I have not been as fired up about getting rid of Bruce as most of the Bruce bashers out here, but it's time. It's just time.

Consider this - with our offensive weapons, we scored a whopping 34 offensive TDs in 16 games. Here are some offensive "juggernauts" that scored more offensive TDs than we did. The Vikings, with the awesome QB duo of McNabb and Ponder scored 38 offensive TDs. The Jets, with Sanchez, scored 40. 40! The Bills and Raiders each had 36. The Texans scored 38 even though they lost their starting QB a little over 1/2 way through the season. The Cowboys scored 38. The Carolina Panthers scored 47 offensive TDs! Do they really have significantly better offensive weapons than we do?

The job of an OC is to work with the talent that he has to score points. That's job #1. We were 21st in the league with 20.3 PPG. We have WAY too much offensive talent to score 20 PPG. We should be in the 25 PPG range. When the same thing happens consistently over a few years, it's coaching. It's time for Bruce to go.

We do not have a matchup problem by the goalline. All our WR our Speed guys and we do not have size down there. Or a really physical player, especially with Ward not playing.

We only score down there when Ben keeps play alive and adlibs.

New Orleans has mostly speed receivers, yet they manage. They throw to their TE or RB's, something we rarely do. That's on the coaches.

I saw that argument against the Skins. That's the coach who's going to Penn State right? I think maybe it was Brady who was doing the chewing.

Lebeau is coming back as well. It'll be interesting to see how things turn out.

quoting eDog55 - "So, if Tomlin wants to get some control on things, he must get a new OC who can control Ben and teach him how the position is played, not this school yard back alley play that he plays. That way, Ben would answer to the OC and then Tomlin. Right now neither Arians or Tomlin has any balls to stand up to Ben. Bill Cowher had control over Ben. Thats why Ben didn't like Cowher."

Both Noll & Cowher controlled their coaching staffs & players over the years. They both earned their tenure - it wasn't a gift from the Rooneys. Tomkin should realize that if he has any intelligence at all.

I'll be extremely disappointed if the Rooneys offer BA a new contract. We'll be in for another season of sandlot ball between the 20's, then a lot of FG's.

Billick interviewed for the Falcons OC position... I didn't think he would go back to being an OC. I think he would have made a good OC for the Steelers.. Oh well

He would have been good. I really wanted a Soprano/Haley duo as our OC. Soprano to fix our Oline and run game problems, and Haley to fix the QB issues and get Ben under control.

I think the Jets are going to have a good year next year with those two (Haley hasn't signed on yet, but I think he will).

I will never quit rooting for the Steelers but I honestly don't know that I will watch them next year with this guy running the offense. The decision to have him return is killing me.
