Yeah and Mike Mularkey has been hired by the jags a second go round as NFL HC. I wonder why with all of Bruce Almightys' ability he never gets a gig? hmmm.....

I'm not surprised. However, I can't say I'm not disappointed. I just don't think he gets anywhere near the most out of the talent he has. Think we'll see any schematic changes going forward?

I hope you're wrong. I think there's a lot to be said for continuity, but I think the offense needs to be strongly"tweaked" to come close to its potential.

This is really not breaking news. Nothing's been confirmed - just hinted. Tomlin said he expected everyone to be back, but no one's made an announcement about anyone on the coaching staff. Heck - they may not have even had exit interviews yet.

OMFG, I can call better plays than him. Get rid of him allready.

We are going to be no better off next season. You can have great players ,but you need a good to great OC to make it work.

Always easier to blame 3 coaches than 53 players. Come on guys. Weve been to two superbowls with these current guys, and if it weren't for major injuries we would have made a more serious run at a 3rd trip. I'm glad they are coming back, and they deserve too.

Another yr of mediocrity ahead. Nothing to look forward to. Offense will be 15-24th in league again. Just pathetic.

I REPEAT - there IS NO BREAKING NEWS!! The Steelers have made NO announcements.

Personally I don't care if he stays or goes, but for all yinz who still want BA (or anyone else) gone - there has been no word from the Rooneys on ANY coaching moves at all. Tomlin just said that he didn't ANTICIPATE any.

I don't care what else this team does in the offseason, but if BA stays Tomlin needs to put Ben and him in their place. Tomlin is a D guy I know, but BA MUST do 3 things:

    1. Use the RBs for something other than running behind a pulling guard and extra blocking. NO uses the RBs as a weapon in the passing game. For us they are a last resort dump off and that is only if Ben doesn't risk something big down the field. If you want Ben to be content with the results of a dump off, you have to put him in situations where he intentionally is looking at the dump off. Good offenses take the 7/8 yards on first down, and then use the other 2 downs for further developing the drive....we don't.

    2. If he wants to throw down the field, I have no problem with that, but in order to do it effectively you have to do what Denver did to us. Make the D believe you are going to run the ball. You can just "run" without a purpose, you have to run with the goal of running it right down the other team's throat. Make them sell out to stopping the run because if they don't, you are just going to march right down the field.

    3. Use the comeback route or button hook. Yes, they throw to the back shoulder to Brown, but on a timing route how do you never throw the ball to Wallace on a comeback route. As soon as that CB turns his hips, Wallace stops and comes back toward the ball. That should be good for a 10 yard first down about 8 times a game. This play is one that we never do, which would totally set Wallace up for what his skill set is...the deep route. Everyone right now KNOWS he wants the bomb, so you have to get into the CBs head first. Make him wonder about the comeback pattern. Even if they don't complete it, it is still a huge tool for this offense that we don't use.

Somebody got it wrong. First of all, Tomlin said that he expected them to be back, but you know how things are in the NFL. Nothing is concreat yet. IMHO, it is not 100% that they both will be back, especially Arians. Even with what happened to the Defense in the Denver game, Lebeau has a better chance to come back then Arians. If Tomlin had any sense, he would get rid of both of them and get a fresh start with someone new. The Rooneys will now have the last say. I believe that they are not going to bring Arians back.

The big thing with Arians is that him and Tomlin has any control over Ben. They just let him do what he wants. They didn't have the balls to sit him down after his injury in the Cleveland game. Look at what happened in New England when Brady threw an interception in the end zone against the Redskins, the OC jumped all over him on the sidelines. When Ben throws an interception, Arians and Tomlin say nothing to him. Ben runs that team. Thats why Arians still has a job because Arians lets him do what he wants, and nobody saids anything to him. Tomlin doesn't even get involved with the offense. In the Denver game on Sunday when the offense got together on the sidelines during a time out, Tomlin was standing outside the offensive gathering looking out on the field. He didn't even get into the gathering or have anything to say. I looked at that and said what the sam hell is going on with that. Most head coaches would have been right in the middle of that gathering, even the ones who don't call the offense. Its just a weird thing with Tomlin.

So, if Tomlin wants to get some control on things, he must get a new OC who can control Ben and teach him how the position is played, not this school yard back alley play that he plays. That way, Ben would answer to the OC and then Tomlin. Right now neither Arians or Tomlin has any balls to stand up to Ben. Bill Cowher had control over Ben. Thats why Ben didn't like Cowher.

If Tomlin wants to win another Super Bowl he must get rid of Arians. The Steelers will never win another Super Bowl with Arians as OC. All of you BA lovers seen what happen this season. The offense was a cluster F _ _ _ !!!! And we lost. Ben got worst as the season went on.

I think the biggest problem is that Ben and bruce are too tight. There are times when the OC needs to reign in the QB and with their relationship the way it is now, Bruce can't do that. He can't be his boss because he's too much his friend. With that said, Mike is Bruce's boss. He should get control of both of them.

My problem with this statement is this, If you are blaming the players for something that has happened for the last several seasons, I feel you need a new coach/coordinator because obviously they either have no control of the players...are not getting thru to the players...or just need to scrap a faulty system.

    I agree 100%.

Where was this high powered offense that Bruce claimed we were going to have this year? With the talent that we have on offense we should have easily blown a lot of teams out.

    Please, no more Bruce!

Just a quick question. Who was the OC when we won our last two Superbowls?

    Whiz

    Arians

Whiz found a way to win the SB in spite of Ben's performance, BA won it because of Ben.
