Hopefully this was a blessing in disguise and there is another plan to bring in an additional WR who fits. The upside is we don't give up valuable draft capital.

No, Aiyuk will definitely put up better numbers staying in San Francisco

Adams is gonna wanna Jet straight to New York the second that happens to play with this ole buddy. If the Jets are competing and are one player away, they will mortgage a 1st to get one more difference maker.

I've read a few articles that say we stand pat this season and target Tetairoa McMillan in the draft

I still feel like they need at least another WR in the room this year.

And the Steelers will be stuck with one of the worst WR rooms in the league.

Yeah, but to think he was ever coming here was a pipe dream, it was never realistic. We were being used as leverage for a bigger contract with SF and the constant drama was tiring. This false hope was all we heard about for the last year or so, I'm glad it has come to an end. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems our offense has bigger issues than missing just a WR.

On the field for this year, we would have been better off. However, IMO.....the cost for any deal for Aiyuk would have hurt us badly in the future. I am glad that Khan knows a bad deal when he sees one. Khan really seems to have a good eye for value and another eye towards the future.

Even James T Kirk would like our Khan!

Luther Burden III would be my personal choice. That said, should he have the season so many believe he can?!.... Yeah... him donning the Black 'n' Gold isn't happening.

100 percent. I’m happy we didn’t give up a bunch of picks for him but this doesn’t fix the elephant in the room. We have arguably the worst WR room in the league. Van Jefferson and CA 3 are our 2/3 right now

I wasn't worried about giving up picks it wasn't going to be a first rounder, they would be getting a proven player in Aiyuk.

Well several picks combo of 2 and 3 and tying up a lot in salary could have been a problem down the road without a QB. All that being said our WRs behind Pickens blow (Roman Wilson TBD)

Newsflash: you have to give up something to get a good player, those picks probably wouldn't be given up in the same year.

Steelers fans complain about the WR room being bad, but don't want to give up draft picks or big money to improve it .

I didn’t say that. I just don’t like Lynch. I’m glad it did happen. I think it would have been a bad move for this team in the long run. The sad thing is though we probably could have made that trade had we still had Dionte Johnson. The word is Carolina was gong to release Donte Jackson anyway so we probably could have had him for nothing and DJ in the trade for Aiyuk. But honestly I think it would have created cap problems in the future with some of our own players were trying to extend.

We should have picked up Noah Brown and made a small trade for Alec Pierce.

Yeah, I started a thread on Adams to the Steelers recently if they start the season bad.

I get that but with our QB situation it may have been a poor move down the road. I just think the asking price and salary would have been too much for a team not close to contending. We still need a WR though just one not as expensive for the next few years if we hit on a QB.
